I was wondering if anyone knows of any power producing buildings that I can use in a small, all residential city. The Maxis ones and the ones I've downloaded don't fit in a suburban city. Thank you.

Considering modern trends, you could just put together a wind farm.

Also, you could set up a neighbor deal and have a neighboring city provide the power.  All you need is to have power poles connecting the two cities.  It is also possible to have the power provided to several cities away and have neighbor deals with all connecting cities.  I my region of Hebron I have one city providing power for every city in the region (75 cities in all).

Woah! I'm going to try this.

I knew I could sell from one city tile to another. I just never realized I could pass it on down the line. Can I have all the garbage hauled off to one tile too? (Which, if yes, implies water as well.)

Power, Water and Garbage can be sold from one town to another. The town buying it doesn't need its own source, however, you do have to pay for it. Somewhere out there there is a gas station power plant, and depending on what type of suburb you're making, there are numerous small power plants that look like ordinary machine shops, garages, etc.

I had uploaded a set of photovoltaic power plants some time ago. Expensive to build, cheap to operate, relatively low power output, no pollution. And you can always make your own, if the ones in the pack do not meet your needs:

Photovoltaic Power Plants

Corina, yes, not only you can "daisy-chain" all neighbour deal types, but if you have utility-only cities you can have all services supplied by them, and if you don't actually "run" these cities (only have them for just supplying power and taking garbage - through deals) you get almost limitless supply, because of the "asynchronous" simulation of cities; the city tile accommodating  these utilities can be supplying services virtually forever, as power plants and incinerators won't be getting any older, landfills won't be getting full etc etc, which is kinda cheaty actually, but that's how the game is made. Below are two threads you may find helpful - I have included many more links in my reply in the 2nd one, check them too:

Coolness. :)

I've quoted your whole post into my Cori's Place notepad for later reference. I will want to try to play that master supply city initially for a more realistic approach. I'm assuming it can be a viable, self sustaining city from all of the income it'd be getting.

When I set up a situation like this, I generally have one heavy industrial city that supplies power and receives garbage.  I select a central residential city to provide water all around.  This means that profitability is a major concern in both supplying tiles as neighbour deals never are enough to make a profit on their own.  Don't forget the moolah command if needed.
