    Nardo69 and Bongoswinp:
Thank you two for your reply. I am happy that you like the housing area for the poor.

    Cadott Titel NO 16.jpg

Dear visitors, I thought you might be wondering what else is going on in Victoria, so I took a series of small pictures to show you the city as it is by now. As you can see, there are still many buildings missing or in the wrong place. But I am working on it.

I hope you will like this little preview.

Such realistic ports built by your skill and excellent building and planning. The housing is realistic in a way not shown in many CJs.I can't belive I've missed this as it is very well done and often updated it seems. The downtown incorparates angles pleasing both to the eye and the transport design.I really like the bats chosen in the city and gown out.Grand work and I can't wait for the next update!

I must say, three updates in this short period of time, you have been busy.

The harbour mosaics are really great, such a well planned harbour and with a great choice of BATs, very impressive!

The images with the flats are good aswell, and you have also managed to make a good w2w innercity, keep it up44.gif

wow, really really really good cj. You should feel honoured my normal praise consists of good. Just great looking. So many buildings i'm intrigued what they are but i'm going to limit myself to just asking about two:

    1. not really a building, but the port which has the two big metal gantry cranes running on tracks with lots of warehouses behind.

    2. the apartment blocks that made up the lower class area, there were quite a few all togather.

Keep up the great work. Would be nice to some longer distance shots to give an impression which area of the city the viewer is looking at

    Hello, barnatom.

This is my first post in your CJ, however; I can guarantee you that it will NOT be my last.

I am very impressed with your CJ.  Your attention to detail and the meticulousness of your designing and execution of the same is of an extremely high caliber of quality.

Now, in case what I just wrote above sounds like giberish to you, just interpret it to mean that your CJ is a very high quality product from a very talented creator.

I will tell you that your CJ is an inspiration to me and I certainly will be incorporating some of your ideas and eagerly looking forward to more.

Have you thought about writing a tutorial on how to put together a very functional, yet very  beautiful harbor?  Victoria Harbor certainly qualifies for both.

Your terraforming skills are very good as well.

barnatom, thank you for sharing this jewel of a CJ with us.  I certainly look forward to your continued updates.

    Regards,

    Vandy

In the end you will see, You is you and me is me.

Thank you very much, all of you! I am so glad that there are so many visitors who like this CJ.
    Great support!

    simster6:
Thank you for opening page 5! But could you explain what you mean by 'dowdy' ?

    Micah:
Thank you very much! I am glad that you like the last update.

    Cjah:
Thank you for your long reply. Great that you even like this ugly housing project.
    And wellcome to Cadott Bay!

    Simworld 056132:
Wow, dazed! Your the first one who says that!

    Kwakelaar:
Thank you for posting again. And I am glad, that you liked the mosaics I did for you.

    jacqulina:
Thank you again. Great that you like those flats as well.

    Bongoswimp:
Yes, I had some free time. But I worked on downtown for some time already, so I was able to show pictures of it now.

    bat:
    Thank you for posting again.

    davejowsey:
    Thank you! I feel honoured!
1: I found this port pieces in the Massively Gigantic Japanese BAT Gallery . Sorry, you will have to look for yourself, I don't remember the exact page.
2: This appartment blocks are the Crumby Arms ver. 1 by 6459978.
And yes, I should post pictures which explain the location of the different areas. I will do that next time.

    PhilsCafe:
Thank you for another comment. Great to hear that you like the look of Victoria already.

    nowereman:
Thank you for visiting Cadott Bay again! And thank you for your compliment, too.

    Nardo69:
Well, I meant that there are some buildings that shouldn't be there they are right now, but should be at other places. You know how the game works, buildings pop up there they want to and not always in the place you want them to be. That's all.

    Vandy:
Wellcome to Cadott Bay and thank you very much for your great post. I think I understand quite well what you mean by 'Your attention to detail and the meticulousness of your designing and execution of the same is of an extremely high caliber of quality.' This has to be the most elaborated comment I ever had. Thank you!
And I am glad that you could get some ideas by looking at my CJ. That is the best compliment one could do, I think.

    Fabiocb:
    Thank you very much.

And now another thing, I need your help.

    Lot request

Because I am playing on a Mac, I am unable to use the LotEditor. So I hope that some of you might be able and willing to build some lots I need.

The idea is to have another type of lots that can be placed between to one-way roads in order to get a broader and more realistic avenue. I thought of using porkissimo's STREET TREES found here and the great EUROPEAN STREET ACCESSORIES here also by porkissimo.

Here is a sketch of the first lot I would like to be made:

    Boulevard-1.jpg

The ground texture for this 1x1 lot should be the same as the high welth sidewalk texture of the normal roads. I think morifari did a lot pack called 'simple empty lots' which contains one lot with this texture.
The brown circles indicate the location of the trees and the gray box is the symbol for a bench.

    Another sketch:

    Boulevard-2.jpg

Basically the same idea, only that there is just one tree.

And another one, this time 3x1:

    Boulevard-3.jpg

Only the gray circle is new, it should be one of those round colums there people put notes and advertisments.

Well, I think you get the idea. Of course there could be other things, like some poeple, billboards, wasteboxes and so on...
And perhaps it would be good to have the same lots with different trees, it is only me who wants them to have porkissimo's.

I imagine to have some variarity of this avenue filler lots to prevent repetition. But 4 or 5 lots should do the job, I think.

What do you think? Of course it would be great to have these lots on the STEX.
    Anyone who wants to join?

Well, I could give it a try. But I'm not very experienced with the lot editor, therefore you had to be patient with me. 34.gif
And I don't know (yet) how to tweak them to have different styles in one lot, appearing randomly. Do you know a tutorial for this?

I would be glad if I could help, but accepting me, means you have to deal with a half-beginner (although fast learning 2.gif).

Ah... Now I understand. And yes, I think you are right. I wanted it to look like that.

    Bongoswimp:
Thank you very much for offering your help. Kwakelaar already sent me a PM saying he could give it a try, too.
So, I don't know. It would be a waste if two people are working on the same thing simultaneos. Perhaps we have to discuss this a little bit more.

So I have two people offering their help, Kwakelaar and Bongoswimp. Do you two want to work together? Is that even possible?
    What do you think?

    And now this:

    Cadott Titel NO 17.jpg

It is time to expand our view to another city in Cadott Bay. I am talking about Auxerre, Cadott Bay's oldest and most respected city. It was and is the political capital of the country and of course the seed of the gouvernement. Its citizens are proud of the glamouros boulevards and the beautiful ancient architecture of the city.

This is a small overview of Cadott Bay showing Victoria and Auxerre:

    RegionWithCities1.jpg
    17.1

And here is a little preview of what is expecting you in Auxerre:

    17.3

    CadottBayP17P3.jpg
    17.4

    17.5

Cadott Bay is one of those countries there the Capital is a most respactable City but not the economic centre of the nation. That would be Victoria.

Oh, this looks very nice! I just love the paris buildings, and in combination with the beautiful trees (dusktrooper's I think) and that statue you have a simply beautiful scene.

I really like this CJ, I think its on its way to great things! 48.gif

Oh ok. I think it's better if kwakelaar is doing this. He's much more experienced. I think working together is a bit difficult, because it's only about creating a lot. But I'll pm him anyway, maybe I can get some tips that way. 2.gif

btw: auxerre is very nice. I go with choco, the combination of the houses with the trees looks awesome.

    Gorgeous!

Can I assume that you're building this from scratch with lots of cash? I'm still stuck in the playing style of 'growing' my cities within the standard financial constraints.

    Wellcome to Cadott Bay!
No, I don't use mony cheats or anything else that gives me money or more than the natural demand. I don't know why, but after some years my cities normaly give a budget plus of one or two thousand Sim$ a month. And playing many years waiting for the right buildings to appear gives me enough money to build nice things. That's it.

Hoffe, dass du mir das glaubst.

I am sorry, but this update will make the previous one looking bad. I had to remodel the island. I think it is looking more realistic now. There simply are no such high walls along the rivers in the real world. But see for your self.
