A city building game that spans throughout history it's the game I want to play. It would be awesome to build your city, research new technologies (from the wheel and the steam power to computers and inter-dimensional architecture), unlock new abilities (like choosing new economic models, such as Capitalism or Recourse Based Economy) , and watch your city evolving from the distant past to the distant future.

But after the fiasco of Civitas a few years ago, I'm very cautions about promising city builders.

"If you try to please everybody, you often times end up pleasing nobody, especially yourself. When somebody offers to do a favor for free, like making a mod for SimCity 4, you shouldn't be overly critical of something generously given to you. In other words, you shouldn't look a gift horse in the mouth." - Twilight Sparkle after playing SimCity

"Being a mayor or a content creator for SimCity 4 is a heavy responsibility, Patrick. Each city and each custom content is like a child, and must be treated as such." - SpongeBob Squarepants after playing SimCity

"Without deviation from the norm, progress is not possible." - Frank Zappa

"The wisest men follow their own direction." - Euripides

Welcome to Fairview, my new city journal *:D

I echo Terring's sentiments. However if such a project was done like Citybound with regular updates, good communication with supporters and so on then that would be good.

I have always felt the main issue with most sim games is a rather narrow timeline regarding technological advances, social changes etc.

It always feels a bit wrong to start a city on completely unused land in the modern day.

Reading your kickstarter I do not wish to be negative but pictures are best had from launch. The anglais is a touch off, but if you show some actual development pictures then I am sure many will be interested.

As it is I will not donate anything, but I may well chip in a bit if the kickstarter looks promising. At the moment the lack of any development images does somewhat remind me of Brandon Smith.

Also maybe pictures of the team would help make it more convincing.

Edit: Sorry I have just read your updates and see some dev pictures and you mention weekly updates. I will make my donation, knowing that unless the project succeeds and gains full donation there is no risk.

I wish your team the best of luck with your project.

A cross between SimCity and Civilization? A match made in heaven! I will gladly pay for a release (even if early) but "once burned, twice shy" or something like that...

Ocram's Razor: Though "more things shouldn't be used than are necessary," they're just too fun to pass up! Expect many verbose arguments from me. I will try to write abstracts before or short summaries after from now on.

Words to live by:
"Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit. But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. For to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, and to another the word of knowledge according to the same Spirit; to another faith by the same Spirit, and to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit... But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually..." 1 Corinthians 4-11

"Do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." Matthew 6:34
"Do not judge so that you will not be judged. For in the way you judge, you will be judged; and by your standard of measure, it will be measured to you." Matthew 7:1-3
