Adding custom music in Sim City 4

Hello, I have the digital copy of SC4 Deluxe from Steam and I added music from Sim City 3000 Unlimited. I put it in Sim City 4 Deluxe/Radio/Mayor, but when I start SC4, and went to audio settings, I checked the box for adding custom music in SC4. The SC3000 music files are not shown in SC4. I put it the right folders, but I just can't seem to have the files shown in SC4.

Is there a way to play custom music in SC4? I tried to put it in the right folders, but it's just that SC4 didn't see them for some reason. Can you guys help me with it?

In my installation the folder path to the music is /Radio/Mayor/Music.  I saved the SC3000 Unlimited music as MP3 files in the Music folder.  I enabled custom music in settings, and SC4 does play the SC3k music.

Yes, but does it show the song name from SC3k in the audio settings in SC4 with a checkbox next to it? On my copy, it doesn't show it.

1.  You may not have it at the right level.  The correct path is ...\Maxis\SimCity 4 Deluxe\Radio\Stations\Mayor\Music and the structure looks like this:

2. Note the file kmay.id.  If it is not present above the Music folder, nothing plays. 

3. If your files are proper MP3 (not too high frequency) then you can control individual files by their file name, not necessarily the SC3 title.  With respect to sampling frequency, remember what was available when this program was written.

4.  They won't play if you don't tick the custom music box.
