Holy bananas!!! I never thought it would be that big!!!!!!!!! I imagined it to be like a Spanish colonial city with period buildings and traditional architecture, but it is huge, beautiful indeed.

Yeah, I've seen numerous pictures of that city. Like others said, reminds me of Hong Kong. Also, reminds me of Houston too....

    Astig! Pinoy din ako! Hehe

Sadly, only few people know about Manila having so many skyscrapers. Well, what do you expect when there is a large gap between the rich and the poor? Tsktsk Think of Metro Manila as having slums and dirty places all the while there are skyscrapers popping out.

Anyway, Metro Manila is really a large area-there are many downtown areas. Imagine if all those areas were just one...Well I can't imagine hehe

But still, the skyline is beautiful. Different styles and shapes of buildings could be seen.

Here are some pics I found

It's no surprise the gap between the rich and poor is so great in Manila. It's huge already (or growing) everywhere on Earth!

But anyway, I had no idea the skyline was that impressive! I'm sure with the bay and the tropical climate, it's really an amazing place to live---if you're rich, that is.

The Philippines is truely a country of immense contrast.  The rich is overwhelmingly priviledged, and the poor is unimaginably penniless.  Very few middle class citizens (in US standards).

And did you know?  The overall design of the City of Manila was originally planned by Daniel Burnham, the same man who worked on designing Cleveland, San Francisco, Washington, D.C. and Chicago.

oh yeah, jeepneys are still on the loose:

yayo, I said US' standard of middle class.

The majority of the pop is lower class.  So in a statistical view, the lower class can be considered as the middle class since they are greater in number.

Manila is formerly the greatest city in Asia but after corruption in the government started it lost it's glory. To remind it's former glory, here are some of the titles Manila had before: center of commerce, trade and industry, culture and the arts, fashion, elegance, agriculture, the elite, no bias, I got these from real facts. I'm just sad things turned around. Manila is "re-developing", not developing, it was already developed before. Thanks!
