A potentially severe drought is parching fields in my area.

It's been hot and not a drop of rain for weeks.

Any moisture we have left is been swiped away to eastern parts where they don't' need it.

And the heat and drought is very hard on my piranhas. There are no worms and I'm sick and tired of having to buy live food for them.

And i'm having trouble keepin the 90 gal tank cool.

It's a one hour drive but i'm going to the lake to catch minnows for them.

A few days ago, I had to pump gas in 120F/49C heat.  And the catch on the gas nozzle was broken, so I had to stand by the car and hold it.  In the sun.

14.gif

Anyways, its 108F/42C right now, with 16% humidity.  Only a few scattered clouds in the sky.

The guy on the TV said the country is heading for heatwave conditions if the temperatures don't return to normal in the next week (average here is only around 23°C/73°F during the day, 12°C/53°F at night in Summer, but still very sunny). But then on the other channel the guy said they expect to be like this for the next two weeks, at least. The last heatwave we had here was in 2003, when the whole of Northern and Western Europe was affected (42°C/107°F in some places, I think). No rain in the past few weeks either, very rare for Ireland...3.gif
