Looking good Marrast, I always think your transport systems are superb, and that split avenue/railway is no exception. I'll look forward to more on Eladremme proper! Nice photoshopping too 2.gif.

Congrats on reaching Page 9 and 15000+ views! 39.gif

Marrast,
I've already said that when I watch your CJ I see, calm, precision and beauty. But each and everytime there was another thing in my mind and I was not able to recognize it, but today it came as a flash! Looking at your transportation network in the Power and utilization scheme. It looks like a computer motherboard layout! So precise and purposeful!

Your CJ Marrast is UNIQUE, and I'll also take this opportunity to say Thank you, for all the great lots and bats you've given us! 16.gif

I know that this phrase is often used but I'll use it anyway, GREAT WORK Marrast! 44.gif

Take care!

Wow. Your landfills are really impressive.

And for a first draft, your downtown is awsome!

Did you mod the avenue to get the light rail to go in the median or something?

Anyway, like usual, great work 44.gif

BTW, have you or will you try the Cycledog Terrain mod in Eladremme region?

I just had a look at your latest updates, and again I am truly impressed by what I see. The repetion and rythm of buildings gives this journal a unique architectural look. Your neighbourhoods and industrial areas look like they just came straight from the drawingboard.
I think it al looks very beautiful.

    Oh, thank you everyone for your support! So many great words here :} Your comments make me want to continue this CJ 48.gif
    As allways, i'll try to answer to some questions :}

    To the_crispbread_witch: Oh, i don't play SC4 with highest resolution, cause it makes the region view a bit glitchy. I set the resolution to 1200x1600 only when i'm taking pics for my CJ 5.gif

    To Dr. Neitchskrimfrauwnmoya: Oh, i've prepared a little tutorial on this avenue, so look at the end of this post :}
    And about Cycledog's terrain mod, i must say, it's really beautiful, and i'm using the trees from this mod, so maybe i'll show the Brubus bogs next time. With the burned trees, the bogs looks really great. And what about the terrain itself.. it's really amazing but i don't want to change it in Eladremme region =:}

    To Monkeys Unkle: What exactly? If you talk about the pic itself - it's ingame shot altered in Photoshop :}
    And if you mean the avenue, look at the end of this post, i've prepared a little tutorial :}

    Ok, here is my how i do it 9.gif

    Actually, a long time ago, i saw Tropod experimenting with the avenues like this. But he was using the elevated rail. I just can't find the thread at tis moment. May be it was in the NAM General Discussion thread... or may be not.
    However, to make the avenue with a tramway line in the middle, you must have a Ground Light Railway Mod installed .  You also will need the NAM .
    Now, let's begin:

    1. Ok. It's very simple. First of all, you should know, that is possibe only with orthogonal avenues.
    Drag an orthogonal avenue as long as you like:

    tut001_001.jpg

    2. After this, choose a railway, and drag it over the one of the avenue lane like this:

    tut001_002.jpg

    You will get a half of the avenue after this.

    3. Now, bulldoze the railway, and drag a second avenue directly next to the first one. The lenght of the second ave must be exactly the same as the first one. Like this:

    tut001_003.jpg

    4. After this, choose a railway and drag in over a middle lane of this avenue mess 18.gif

    align=baseline>

    5.  Next, you will have delete the railway, and after this you can place in between this lanes averything you want, even zone it with commercial, or residential zones. But any way, you should create some intersections first:

    align=baseline>

    6. Now, you must to know, that if you will try to bulldoze any tile of this avenue, it will be deleted from one intersection to anoter.  So be very orderly.
    Also, you should to know that if you want to continue your divided avenue, you can create the new one and connect it with an old one using one ways.

    Ok, to have the tramway in the middle, you must to put the intersecions first. Like this:

    align=baseline>

    7. After this, lay down a tramway, plop the stations, and put some lots next to the ave (from each side), to have the light poles and avenue divider appeared.

    align=baseline>

    That's all!

    See ya next time =:}

    I'm seeing many possibilities with that tutorial.
    And for the city, well it's looking great, i think this is the best city in the forum.

    btw, the cable kit building still the same, it's not there but that's ok, for now i'm working with terraforming and start a region of my own, but the terraforming is hard to do 30.gif.

    Dude!

    You should post this tutorial on the NAM thread or somewhere I dunno 18.gif

    That's funny because last month I discovered about this glitch ( also there ) with the avenue but I said (and I'm quoting myself) : However, this bug doesn't have any possible usage because traffic can't drive on the avenue. Buildings weren't developping along the bugged stretch of avenue.

    It seems I was wrong and it had a lot of possibilities 19.gif. However, like I said, I couldn't get anything to gorw along this avenue, so do buildings grow along your avenues?

    Oh and I can't wait to see those bogs with the CD trees!

    This question may have been asked before...but how do you get the pictures to look so realistic, and have so much detail. My computer is state of the art, and all the options are set on high....but they dont look like that! how do you do it?

    So.. here i am1.gif I saw this CJ just now... It's a shame, ehh.... I was sittin down in front of screen whole night and studying thic pics and writings... Maybe i'm slighty mad about this game (for sure I am1.gif) I like many CJ's right here ..I thought Jeronij is the only master, but i saw master of the master! 2.gif It's a joke but your terraforming and planning skills, and also BAT/LOT skills are amazing, it's real art.

    This is funny i find your sidwalks, dividers and other packs absolutly useful and essential for my cities... And I see I really tried do somethin like that, but my skills are not so good... And now i saw this masterpiece... Nothing's gonna be the same after that! 2.gif

    I just discovered potencial of the LE and I created many fillers, little custom lots, and tried to use them in overall planning. And i saw somethin I exactly want to make...

    Keep this growing, you merged greatest ghost of russian '20-'30 constructors with special sweetnes of SC.. and result is absolutly great... It seems you are above game's limitation...1.gif

    Thanks for the words about  this little tutorial, guys! 48.gif

    To Dr. Neitchskrimfrauwnmoya: Yeah, i think i remember this little glitch in your CJ 5.gif
    About zone developing along this avenue. I must say that everything is ok about that. All these homes along the ave are growables. Pathfinding works pretty well too.. I'll better get some pics i think :}
    Concerning Brubus bogs - i'll show it in the next update, i hope :}

    To Nedal2001: Yes, i use the highest resolution to take pics, and also, the best thing that could make your ingame shots look better is a sharpen effect in Adobe Photoshop.  Whith this effect, your pics will look abit more detailed :}

    To MTLT_17: Oh, wich one? That one in the tutorial? It's a Morifari's GLR Station, aviable at the official GLR Mod site .

    Journal Improvements.

    Today i've updated the very first post in this CJ -  Journal Info .
    I love to keep my CJ well organized, so, i've updated the modds listregional map, and statistics.
    I have also added a 'few words' legend of the region, and the most important update i've made - the table of contents, wich allows you to jump to the every update directly from the journal info.

    Also, all the updates with deleted pics, now has a link to the first update with pics ( Der Cuubeness ).

    I hope that all these improvements will make Eladremme CJ more easy to read and userfriendly 18.gif

    Preparing

      Eladremmian goverment has requested regional topographic survey.
    They need a regional map to start working on a general Eladremme City layout.
    So, Oleandres Topographic Team has just started to mapping the whole region
    from the Etsaw district.

      - There is a bunch of work, you know - says the major pilot
         of the Oleandres Topographic Team, John Lemon,
      - we have about a month to finish it. The goverment wants start working on a master plan
        as soon as possible...
      - I see.. Can you show us, what you already have done?
      - Oh, sure. I'll show you...
      - OMG!!!

    topo_map001_750_top.jpg
    topo_map001_750_bottom.jpg

    Click  here to see actual size of the map.

    * * *
    So, this work is kinda boring, but the result is great i think. Hope to finish mapping the whole region someday... It will help me to design the downtown area of the city 5.gif

    Ok.. looks like the pics of the Brubus bogs will be in the next update 21.gif sorry!

    Thanks for the comments and viewing guys, as always 48.gif I'm glad that you like the idea of the map, because i have just finished it 39.gif18.gif

    To Shadow_assassin: Oh, actualy, i don't have bus/railway/etc schemes at this moment. May be one day i'll create a full transportations scheme of the whole region.. who knows, huh 21.gif

    So, now i have a real map of the whole region.
    It gives a lot of the regional planning possibilities, as i think. Anyway, i want to plan an Eladremme city/downtown area soon, so, this map will help me to do that.

    It was really kinda boring to collect all the little city square maps all over the region. About 110 city squares totally 14.gif The actual size of the map is 3056x2808 pixels (!!!) So, if i ever gonna to upload an actual size regional map, i should divide it by fragments...

    But I love the result, and i hope you'll like it too 18.gif
    So here it is:

    topo_map002_750_top.jpg
    topo_map002_750_bottom.jpg
    (mosaic - two pictures)

    I will show you some general layout projects in a next updates, i hope 19.gif
    Also, i want to make a very detailed map with all the landmark names, main higways and railroads :}
