@Decknar707 I am only just starting really, I have only a bit of real-world flying experience, but I've completed VFR ground school twice. And, I'm planning on doing more flight lessons soon, possibly some glider flying. Along with playing on C:S, I also love to fly on FSX, though that is just a hobby. It's nice to see that someone else on here is involved with aviation in the real world.

@tnare Yeah, ATC is a pretty good job. A couple months ago I went with my ground school / flight instructors and a few other  people from the class to the Boston Consolidated TRACON center for a tour, where they cover Boston approach, center etc. It's a pretty cool job, and pretty well paying too, because at any time you're required to deal with an emergency if there is one. Also it can be difficult to control the traffic which is another reason why it pays well, but the working environment was nice and the building was actually new. Yeah, I'm getting a bit off topic here...

Yeah I built a new airport a while ago so I better post it later today, but the tower at Auckland is quite nice inside

@Tomcat22 Nice job on that.

I saw your airport on the steam workshop earlier, i have it in one of my smaller cities currently.

But mainly well done for doing something that many of us wish we could do but cant.

Thanks glad you like it, it is always fun to build airport according to real airports if you choose extraordinary ones :)

Here's my recreation of Kai Tak Airport. I made this one a while ago and never posted it, but with all the new mods and assets, I went back to it to improve it.

I added touchdown and centerline lights to the runways, though they blink, so it's hard to see them well in many of these photos, so here's an image where you can see them a bit better. (Note: this is a bit of an old image, and you'll probably have to view it in fullscreen.)

You may have noticed also noticed that the building surrounding the airport are way too tall, this is because no other buildings sort-of match the area as well. If you know of a good building theme on the workshop for this area, please let me know! That is all for my Kai Tak recreation.

(I keep trying to delete this photo below because it appears twice, but it just won't go away, oh well.)

Robban, your cities are a real inspiration!

Is there anyone who can help me identify the two large building used as "teminals" in the picture above? The one really big in the middle and the one a little bit smaller in the left?

I can't seem to find them in the workshop and I can't find Robban's asset list either...

Regards!
Leo

(Apologies in advance if I break any rule with too many pictures)

So this is Aniana!

I started a new city before summer and because I'm currently on my laptop most work has been infrastructure since simulation starts to be really slow over 50 000.

Aniana actually has three airports (yes, I know, I went a little overboard :) ), Riverside International Airport, Aniana City Airport and Lenne Municipal Airport.

Situated in the hillside a couple of kilometers from the city centre is Riverside International Airport (RVS), a large busy airport with two runways, two terminals and somewhere around 45 + 15 gates with capacity to take the biggest airplanes.

Close to the city centre is Aniana City Airport (ANC), a smaller airport mostly for regional traffic but with some mainline and international as well.

@leosten - Those airports look phenomenal (and busy!) Glad to see such a great use of the planes all over the ramp!

@inFeRiSYT - I've been watching all of your Diamond Shores videos and loving every single one of them! They're always fantastically well made, and the music and topic choice/parody is spot on! Your airport is incredible as well  - the level of detail is pretty incredible.

And I believe that the planes are yours? In that case thank you very much for the possibilities you give with the different sets! Your A380s were much bigger than the ones before so I actually had to redo the terminals because of them :)

Wow, nice airports. But may I ask where you guys are getting the markings from? Like the taxiway centerlines and edges and what appear to be non-movement zone markings (unless those are just made with the prop line tool). Also @leosten, where did you get the main part of the terminal for your first airport, and the circualr building that connects the two parts of the concourses too? Thanks.

Yep - all the scales are 1:1, and not to the 60% scale that the game seems to be at. I didn't notice until I was doing the 777, and by then it was too late to change the scale.

Taxiway centerline comes with the taxiway. If you mean the other in my airport there are markings made by hand with the help of prop line tool.

UK centre line:

UK hatched box (for the non-movement markings):

The main terminal is the Paris CNIT by Drosvila:

http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=558993512

The round thing by the A380s is the AEGON arena:

http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=420188306&searchtext=aegon

There are a lot of Arenas and Uniques that work really well as terminal parts together with Road Anarchy. We now have really great and diverse planes thankts to @bsquiklehausen, but what I am really missing are some different and perhaps even modular jetways and hallways connecting concourses for even more realism!

WIP of the new international airport. Replacing the preset one. Pig to fit it on the island. Thought there'd have been plenty of room. I'd fill the gaps in with the surface painter and plop anarchy but the surface painter seems to throw out issues with the 25 tile mod I'm using. What's also left is to put the seawalls around. Oh, and to find a nice ATC tower.
