First off, hello! How are you? Secondly, this game by EA has over 10 million downloads, and yet a thorough search has turned up zero hits here on ST.

Well, if you got zero hits it must be because the community does not regard it as a city-simulation game (and then, deserving the SimCity name); but as one of those casual Farmville-with-Skyscrapers games.

Graphs may be crispy and cool, but you won't CJ with them. You may play with the game waiting for the bus, but it won't have you awake till 3 a.m... And so on.

I've been playing quite a bit over the last few days. I can certainly say I enjoy it better than SC13 for sure. The whole FTP doesn't bother me that bad. I've always had a neck for efficiency with what and when to build the resources.

I also looked for a forum section or even a thread with no avail as well. At least not till I was linked to this thread.

I agree with the HQ being extremely buggy with CTDs. as well as being a bit frustrated with trying to score the materials I need to increase my storage. I do believe it's mostly due to being beat to the punch with most items. Since I have short spells of time to kill with my job, I just spam the hell out of the HQ and later than sooner I score what I need.

In the process of trying to figure out the most efficient layout for roads vsbuildings vs services to keep as close to 100% happiness. Wish I had some grid paper to help with figuring it out.

Currently sitting at 60k+ happy Sims with 80k+ coins. Haven't built any more buildings in a while trying to spend all my time increasing the storage while taking care of shipments for keys.

All in all, the crashing of the HQ is really my only complaint with it. It's definitely not a real Sim City game, but for a phone app, I'll take it.

I'll try and neighbor you with the link you posted, though I've never done that with Google Play yet but I should be able to figure it out.

Sounds like a pot boiler app from EA.  I guess for people on mobile phones it might be a good time waster.  Since I have always resisted electronic leashes, I cannot comment further.

I must agree with the much esteemed Moose on the time wasting aspect, and I must concede the similarity to Farmville. That said, I do love this game, and it has kept me up quite late (ironically I think the latest was 3AM :P) with that "just a few more zones" nostalgia. Time will tell, but it does carry the SimCity brand, and I would said it's better than I ever expected for a mobile game. I should note that I play it on my 8" tablet. I tried it on my phone and found it rather annoying.

Well the timer they put on the HQ is a joke. They must have thought that if people couldn't spam the HQ the crashing would cease. ....they were dead wrong with that assumption. Now it just takes even longer to find out the item is no longer available, and seems to crash even more frequent than before the change.

Now I just randomly check people's trade post in hopes of finding what I need. Figure that's just as much of a chance as it was when the item popped up in the list.

It is a pretty good citybuilder app - i like that you can choose / need to build your own products with industrials/shops and upgrade the residentials withit. 24 Levels to upgrade for each residential. Alot events and missions and even you can buy some ingame stuff it is a good challenge without it.

If you like Citybuilders i recommend it - it is not a simulation.

It's an excellent time waster when I am neither walking around nor in front of a computer.

Ocram's Razor: Though "more things shouldn't be used than are necessary," they're just too fun to pass up! Expect many verbose arguments from me. I will try to write abstracts before or short summaries after from now on.

    Words to live by:
"Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit. But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. For to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, and to another the word of knowledge according to the same Spirit; to another faith by the same Spirit, and to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit... But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually..." 1 Corinthians 4-11
