There were three really nice hotels we stayed at:  In Chicago, the Palmer House Hilton was a really great experience (the small room sizes didn't turn me off since I've lived here in Japan for so long).  When we did our Tokyo SkyTree vacation, we stayed at the Lotte Hotel a couple stops away from Ryogoku.  That was a nice hotel.  Probably a bit nicer was the one last summer when we stayed out near Makuhari Messe in the Hotel New Otani.  Nice place, that.  Lots of foreigners, the baseball team stayed there, too, for their game against the Marines, and I saw a Mustang BOSS parked in the parking lot a few spots away from my boring, gray Premacy.

Man, Asian food is good in general! Of course I'm basing my experience off the restaurants we get here in the western world, but there's something special about the Japanese izakaya bars, where the food just comes out when ready. Grilled meats and hand rolls, yum yum!
