No offense to our European friends, but I'm hoping for an American-style version to sell me completely on this game, which I'm already just about convinced to buy...

To be fair, without procedural generation of buildings most cities will look more American than European.

I'm happy that they're looking at native wall-2-wall buildings pretty soon after release. No promises were made, but I'm hoping that we'll actually have cities that look more european without having to resort to plopping.

 

@SAGG: I'm pretty sure we'll see a lot of new buildings released by the modding scene shortly after release. There's bound to be a lot of US styled buildings coming.

The more I see of CS the more I like it. The developers appear to have created a solid base game. OK so at launch it will look repetitive and very generic in appearance but the devs promise a number of free updates/expansions and the fact that easy modding is included in the project should see an exponential growth of content that will enhance the game significantly. I like the subtle touches like river currents and the 3 in built climatic regions with appropriate vegetation and atmospheric conditions- darker/lighter sky/sea. It all augers well for a fantastic game and dedicated community.

I just hope it all pans out accordingly.

 

Don't make regret my preorder/purchase of the Deluxe version.

I'm anxiously awaiting this title. I've just now discovered the true awesomeness of SimCity4, and I feel SO behind everyone else! It will be nice to all be starting from basically the ground up with CS!
