What you mean with diagonal roofing, the inclined? Images will be better to see how it's looking indeed.

Scale. My message is the scale. I have seen your bats at the exchange and sorry but your scale is badly off. Even the preview pictures show that your buildings do not fit with Simcity buildings.

SC4 uses real life sizes (Well more or less anyway) one tile is 16x16m. So you should adjust the gmax (or the program you are using) accordlingly.

I second all the above suggestions as well, and offer this advice.

Start small and work you way up to bigger complicated things. I started out modeling traffic lights and street signs and now I'm making buildings and highway gantries. Try not to jump into the big things right away, work up to them that way when your ready to release your releasing quality over quantity.

Can u tell me how to change my scale, im using 3ds max

Wouldn't it be more useful to start a thread once you have something to show?

And, diagonal roofing can be done with a programme called BAT or 3ds

I mainly made this thread not for showcasing my work but to ask tips and advises from experienced batters. But i will showcased it here then ill upload it to the STEX

Yea, that inclined roof that u do for houses. Like your Harry Potter Project, that house "8 PRIVET DRIVE" like that

"Can u tell me how to change my scale, im using 3ds max"

Use the ''select and non uniform scale'' button, the one with a square on the corner with to arrows pointing outwards to a bigger square. It'll bring up a box from which you can group all your BATs polys and shapes into one object and scale it down or up through adjusting coordinates, or manually doing it yourself (dragging the object bigger or smaller or shorter)

It'd be a lot better for you to showcase progress as well so we can get a sense of where the BATs at and help you out a lot more with your problems. Advising you with a blind eye over the problem or state of your BAT makes it a little harder for us to determine a response or tip.

Here, if i do the normal export sequence, even the ground texture is appeared in the game which makes it look dumb. I want to do a reflective glass for the building but i require that ground texture so that something is reflected.

Great, is always good to have pictures.

To make the ground disappear from the render you've to select it and click on it with the right button of the mouse, go to "Object Properties" and uncheck the option "Visible to camera". But remember to fix the LODS if they are automatic, or they will catch the part of the ground even when invisible. If your lods are automatic I recommend that you delete the ground, do again the automatic lods, and then add the ground again.

Here Is my progress in my new BAT, I still have to add some more features but i might require some advices,

Down below the structure, i have added some glass material below, only near the entrance but i will add it to the others sides as well.

Regarding the roof, does anybody know where i can get an antenna for my roof, I've looked in sketchup 3d warehouse but i could'nt find a good one. So post me a link where i can download an antenna.

Well, the picture is too small to see what the solar panels look like. From what I can see, reflections seem to be working now - congratulations! :) In order to give you better advice, however, it's time for a full-size screenshot now so we can see what we're talking about.

    You're improving!

We can see that your plane hasn't the minimum size to make the reflection in the building, you can notice the reflections are going only to up to half of the building, try to make it bigger.

To make full size pictures, when you inside the preview, there's a disc icon in the left upper corner, click there and you'll know how to make it. Darn42 tips :D

About the antenna maybe the best way is to model it...

I don't know how it looks in a bigger picture, but is your helipad in the right dimensions? It looks too small compared with that door. What's the height of the building? Just to see how nighlights look.

When you have to add pictures or new informations after your last post and no one has posted after you, is better to edit your last message instead of make triple posts, unless there's a long time since you've posted.

You're going really well, keep it up! :)

If you want help you need to listen to the people who are trying to help you, starting with Twrecks 8 posts ago... we need bigger pictures so we can see it better.

Secondly, you need to be more specific. What exactly are you having difficulty with the lighting?

If you can do both those things I'd be delighted to try and help you :thumb:

    1. How Can I Get A bigger image?

    2. Im using Photometric Lights - Target Light With Halogen 80W Template.

The Help I need is that the interior should be seen after i use these lights.

When you do a preview render make sure the slider is on Zoom 5.

    AKIaMK.jpg

With the lights, it looks like you're using self-illumination on the windows. You can't see through self-illuminated materials. You'll need to pick which method you want to use, self-illumination or interior lighting. Most BATers use self illumination for towers and interior lights for the lobbies.
