    Hi everyone,

Looking good JT! If it's ever possible, I'd love to have a copy of the Portland reigion you're doing! I'm still right here in Beaverton and Portland and can go on-site to investigate!

Plus now that I got cable in both places, I can send you larger files and stuff faster.

Portlandexpos: I may end up in the urban development or trnasportation programs. Any advice on what I need to do to get into these? I have to pull teeth to get info out of people at PSU! PM me if you got the info...

As for being out to the suburbs by Xmas, well, I have no idea about that... I live right by the Nike Campus in Beaverton, otherwise there really isnt very many interesting things outside of downtown... Except for Salem, some cool commercial architecture around Clackamas Town Center, and a few historic sites in Oregon City. Plus downtown is pretty big! There's a lot that we can BAT in and around it... Not to mention theres a couple of things in Vancouver, WA that we can BAT as well.

OK Here's one last thing. SAorry I made you all wade thru the words to get to it, but I have put the base on 1000 Broadway. I still need textures and some detail on the tower and inside the base, but you can now get an idea on the size of the building. I'd say that the building is about 70% modeled right now.

    1000%20brwybase.jpg
(at zoom 4, high quality preview)

Notice I've never shown you the back of the building? That's because I haven't completed the facade all the way down the rear of the building. Currently, there is a big hole there. I plan on filling it with both a rear entry (for a 2X4 lot) and a better parking garage (for a full 4x4 lot which would be realistic, thus filling in a block on Jt's Sim Portland).

I would have posted this yesterday, but ST was down from noon onwards...

    Welcome to page 10!!!

nice job on 1000 Broadway, baut about the arguement, I already replied on the other 2 threads you had, but don't you think it's just a bit silly to leave because of the design and the sigs got deleted and other stuff, well then I can't force you to stay, but I urge you to reconsider what you are doing, you have a lot of talent, and I feel you wouldn't find much support in any other site you end up at, but that's my opinion. All I can say is good luck in your travels in the sim city world, and if you don't find anybody out there, you still have some support here, sorry for the long post, but I had to get this off my mind

I too think it's silly to leave... But ok. Just my two cents that I dissaprove your departure.

Aww, come on Sparky. You're the reason I keep coming back to Simtropolis. When I saw that there was a penguin in Portland, I couldn't resist posting. You and jt do great work, especially together. Well, if you can't work out your differences with Dirk (or just not converse with him anymore)... well, it's completely up to you (obviously), but I think everyone here would agree that we want you to keep posting here.

If you are still bent on leaving, then, have fun. Keep up the good (hard) work, and good luck with all you do.

Until I read that post, I was going to say something else.

I have a suggestion for a future BAT project. I don't know what the building is called, but it's a big residential building (I believe it's a retirement facility) on McGloughlin, just north of Westmoreland Park and right where Crystal Spring (the spring, not the street) goes under McGloughlin (Hwy 99E, I believe). It has a unique shape. I just thought it would be interesting to model in SimCity 4.

this makes me so mad26.gif. Nice for Jtportland , such a good project and you leave for  a $%&^! reason. Man this is so sad for JtPortland.

I hope he will keep this project going.

Sorry for screwing up the thread but I had to say it , i'm very dissapointed in you sparky

wow, so much has happened while i've been gone for only a few days.

with regards to sparkys decision to leave, that is his to make, no one elses. we can approve or disapprove, but i don't think it would make any difference on what sparky has decided. i wish sparky didn't leave, but if that's what he wants, then so be it.

i, for one, happen to think that change is a good thing! it was a nice surprise to see the new ST when i logged on this morning.

Alkaola, it's sad that he's leaving yes, but i can function fine without him.

as for the fate of the Portland project, it still will go on!

i have put in a lot of time into the recreation of the Portland in sc4, and i will still continue to make buildings for my Portland CJ, and also for all the people on ST.

portlandexpos04, thanks for the link! and that Meier & Frank building actually came with SC4. as for Pioneer Square, i used some custom props made by me, and also use some props from The Sanctuary, by BriPizza , and i put the lot together myself.

more updates on pacwest to come, i've been majorly busy seeting up in the new place, so hang tight :P

Looks good, but I suggest that you remove the mapped night windows, as they clash horribly with the excellent interior lighting! Nice work, though!

Looks good JtPortland. The series of buildings coming out of the project line are amazing. Keep up the good work.

First off, let me say that is some incredible work. I agree with DuskTrooper though, I think you should remove the nightmap windows, it looks too out of place, other than that, it looks excellent. Great job, keep it up!

Excellent job on the PacWest Center. I used to work right across the street from it.

Very good work(like always). In the night opinion, it sees out as if the floors floating. Are there no walls?17.gif

    thanks guys!

i thought adding those night windows made it look more realistic, but i guess not! lol, i'll remove them then :P

cirugo, glad to see more portlanders commenting!

hong kong, good point, but at this point in time it would be kinda hard to add walls, and they wouln't be noticeable unless you are on 5 zoom. and i don't think it looks that bad as it is now haha

The new one looks great, the night lioghting is okay. Although, the mix is alittle confusing.. It's nice though. Good to have more lower buildings available, Dt doesn't have an excuse to have his downtown stranded in the middle of nowhere now18.gif

dt, i dont think i will. they are pretty generic looking, so i will most likly use the malls in SC4 already.

vidman, thanks! i'll update it w/o the windows, i kinda liked it though, but since almost everybody doesn't, they must go! lol

Maybe the floating effect is to be repaired by some upright window lines. And I wanted to make myself merry not over your work. Prove joke.40.gif I use nearly all your buildings in the play with joy. Thanks for it.19.gif

poiuy1208, i kept the same kind of effect, but only alot less noticeable.

HK, thanks! glad to hear you use almost all my buildings! about pacwest, thanks for all your suggestion! but i've already re-rendered it 5 times now and i think i have spent more than enough time on it, so i will move on to other portland landmarks.

well, i was going to keep this in the bag untill i started my Portland CJ, but it looks like that might take a little more time than i thought...
