Hello everybody! First time poster here but a long time lurker. I've been playing SC4 since 2004 when the Deluxe Edition came out and haven't stopped since. Incredibly I never used custom content until two, three years ago that I discovered NAM and suddenly that flame, that spark I felt back in 2004 was reignited, and I've been on a second honeymoon since then, so to speak.

Anyways, since i don't know exactly where to put these I am posting them here, this is my main city so far in a new gamesave (victim of a prop plox issue). The city is Vistamar, named after a residential zone near my home which is on a very long beachfront near the main capital here in San Juan PR. As of now it has only 15k residents, but there's a lot of growth planned for it. Here are the main residential areas, parks, and some scenic drives/views. hope you like them!!

Of the 4 zillion different Show Us (Showcase) topics we have I'd say you picked the right one. *:thumb: And you need not wait another decade before your next post. :ooh:

Thanks @CorinaMarie, I actually didn't want to be a lurker but yes, it happened, I'm that guy lol *:lol: . And thanks for your comment! Very glad you like it, it's still in development, but I'm very happy with it. All those cities the community has made all this time really motivated me to try and do something similar. Will be posting more soon!

In those 3,595 days of lurking (from when you joined till you posted), I imagine you prolly know where every thread of every kind is. So, I'm sure you are aware of the other Show Us threads too. You can get good mileage out of one city tile by zooming in or out and by focusing on certain aspects such that you can post in more than one thread. Often times you'll receive a Likey or three and other times peeps will comment too. I know when I was doing my first full farm region (starting here if you are curious) that those little hearts and comments encouraged me to keep on going. You might find the same is true by participating with pics of your progress in all the appropriate showcases. *;)

Duly noted, will do, thanks for the hints. Again, my apologies for being that guy. :-)

@CorinaMarie

Delightful subtle use of landscaping as always, and I particularly like how each area of development seems to blend and flow with the terrain. *:thumb:

Now, I did spot something hidden away in the forest clearing...

And zooming in...

So, have I discovered the not-so secret entrance to a secret base, or is it simply a trig point atop the hill summit? *:)

followed by Napoleon's tomb in the "Invalides", next is the cathedral of "Notre Dame"
and the church of "Sacré Coeur", after it is the "Arc de Triomphe" and last is the Bastille column.

Yep. It's a token of appreciation from my Sims to immortalize their favorite mayor. *;)

However, I'm guessing you are wondering why I plopped it where I did.

When I get the message I've earned that statue there really isn't any one little town that needs the aura boost so I tend to just toss it somewhere out of the way. My mental story line is that it is really an ancient statue from thousands of years in the past that will eventually be discovered. I might develop a park or commercial zone around it like I did starting in the oddities thread and finishing in the before and after one.

    This is the Central West area of Sault Ste. Marie. The area is also known as Steelton. This is were the City of Sault Ste. Marie was first settled in 1742. The settlement was called Steelton at the time even though no steel mill would exist here for another 160 years. I guess they could see into the future. The area between the Steelton Centre skyscrapers and the Steelton Marina is were the first settlement was created. In 1848 as the city was developing eastward and across the St. Mary's River on the island and in the West Point neighbourhood, the city was renamed to Sault Ste. Marie which means the rapids of the St. Mary's.
