wow...i think the double decker train thing is a bit unrealistic...maybe the upper one could be monorail or elevated rail?

I'm sure that it's been mentioned before, but I think that some sort of a "draw bridge" would be a pretty cool idea.

I tested the Beta bridges and everything seems to work properly! I think the guys problem above might be the custom water change. They might have some sort of conflict. I don't use custom water, just the ingame water for me! =)

Jeronij: I thing you should create a lightrail version of the bridge with subway link. (GLR pathing on the bridge, transit switching using a dummy GLR->subway transition to be placed as LOT behind every bridge end). This may be an alternative to expensive water tunnels. By the way, I think the bridge looks better if there is only one level in the middle.

I agree, ditch the upper rail level. It should be easy to make a starter puzzle piece with rail on only one side, I should think. Or, put a rail switch in the puzzle piece (hidden from view) to combine the two sets of tracks into one.

Ok, I see, I see, your minds are closed to the standards 2.gif 3.gif !!!

I had some time to work on the Capital bridge. I followed your suggestions ( I dont know why 31.gif 2.gif, and I changed the transit layout.

I hope you like the pics

6.gif Absolutly stunning bridge jeronij!  The rail placement looks much more realistic now.  I really love the futuristic look of the bridge also.  Excellent work, and good luck on this project!

Edit:  I just downloaded/installed the custom bridges in your signature, and for some reason no new bridges appeared in the bridge construction menu when I attempted to build a bridge.  I have the latest version of the NAM, so I'm not sure what's causing this to occure.

Edit 2:  Problem solved, I just forgot to put the file into the NAM folder, works great now.

Awesome.......

What do they call those type of bridges? Isn't it cable-stayed or something like that?

Jeroni,

Another masterpiece my friend...glad I convinced you to take up the BAT... 2.gif Serioursly though, it looks great...

Seeing as how you have track underneath and on the road deck in the median, you could do something like freight underneath and passenger on top...if that is possible...

Great work my friend...keep em coming...

U3D: It's called cable-stay or cable-stayed bridge. This is a sub type, which name I don't know.

I am still having problems with the game crashing while using the beta bridges, I took you advise and did a fresh install of the NAM...even though I knew that I had the most recent (oct) version...here is a picture of what I have installed...

namtrouble4xp.jpg

I with just the files above...I have no problem.....but with the bridges installed, I am able to draw out the bridge.....select the type...and lay it across the water....but when I click the done button....the game crashes to the desk-top. This only happens on the new custom bridges....the default maxis one will build.

I have tried this in a pre-buildt region....also in my test region that I use for Peg Beta testing...sans plugins. The test region has very limited mods and plugins...NAM, Slope mod, Cycledogs Columbia texture mod, Maxis bdg vol 1 and 2, and such

Your freedom is the most expensive thing you have, even if you arn't the one that paid for it... Use it well.

I have both the RHW beta and the new bridges beta, and they work just fine together on my system.

Here is the puzzle piece that puts the trains on the bridge.  Traffic arrows are also shown.

Just a comment.. (I know all you need is wisecracks by railfans.. 3.gif ) but in RL bridges the RAIL is almost always the "anchor piece" for any traffic situaltion. AUTO's do the BENDING AND CURVING while the rail mostly stays STRAIGHT and LEVEL. The reasons for this is pretty apparent.. The bridge would be much more real looking if the RAIL were the stable part while the road pieces made the "curve on" and "curve off".. .Don't know how workable this is in your scheme of things...
