Chapter 1: A New Beginnings

The country of Pulpini was a proud and great nation. One of the most powerful and prestigious countries to ever harass the planet. There was one man whom was responsible for this, Cornelius Giovanni Wilbert. No one expected this tiny upstart nation to become so powerful. It was a guppy in a sea of sharks. Cornelius wanted only what was best for his nation. He was a leading general at the time and held power only comparable to the president himself. Cornelius was fed up with being a second-rate country. He created a coup and caused the downfall of the ruling party, and thus democracy. Yeah there were elections obviously, but no one ever voted for anyone else than him, no one wanted to. There were people that did though, we don't talk about them. Pulpini funded its military in insanely high amounts. Tanks and planes and weird goopy things that were supposedly weapons. Soon Pulpini rose up against its neighbors, nationalism was at its height. The surrounding nations were all in the same situation as Pulpini but did nothing about it. Pulpini "convinced" them to join their glorious empire. Soon Cornelius too was a giant. Having gobbled up every small nation around him he held an empire to challenge the greatest. That's when everything went wrong. People say that when things begin to go right, that's when the complaining begins. When things are bad you don't notice little things like poor sanitation, bad infrastructure, and oppressive regimes. The citizens were fed up and mounted massive rebellions against their ruler. No matter how many bullets, tanks, or crude gestures he would use it was a losing battle. Pulpini would survive, but Cornelius might not. His palace was stormed eleven years after he took power, he was deposed and now a stupid form of "democracy" took place. Pulpinian citizens thought for days and held trials to decided Cornelius' fate. They thought it cruel to kill him as he did make their nation great, so they did the humane thing and abandoned him on a random island in a cruel land known as Teraan. His family were dumped with him too, this is where our story begins.

The land of Teraan is entirely void of life. Nothing to speak of but dirt and water. The lands were harsh and unforgiving. There was a small island in particular that would be used as the landfill to dump Cornelius. The island was used because an island is what? Yes, surrounded by water. And this means that unless he is part dolphin he cannot leave without somehow constructing a boat to leave.

iDVUUf1.jpg

Cornelius was an opportunist, he made the best of what he got. He decided to make the island as cozy as possible and to do this he decided to name it. He named it Estna in honor of... nothing. It was a totally random name and actually no one knows why the country was called Pulpini either. No one questioned it. Anyhow, Estna would be a tough challenge but Cornelius believed he could conquer it. Anything was possible.

5UpJzHa.jpg

Using building techniques from his home land, Cornelius designed a house and some places to work the land. He thought about cultivating the soil but thought it had better uses. He instead decided to just fish for food. He and his family would survive, if just barely.

UL4JmTM.jpg

Finally the buildings were finished. It didn't take too long but it was a lot of work.  Cornelius had a dream that night. He had a dream of Estna and all of Teraan. A dream that imagined him once again as the leader of a powerful nation. He imagined him at the top of the pyramid once again. With this he fell into a lull, and eventually drifted off, his loving family always close. Sometimes it was easy to forget he was an oppressive dictator.

With the land of Teraan now under Cornelius' rule, he called a meeting together with all of his followers. He declared this lands are now the Free Nationalist Republic of Teraan ruled out of the city of Estna. He explained that the name is long because it describes all the ideals that Cornelius stands for. Someone said he didn't quite agree. He unfortunately was asked  to leave the island with no food, no water, and no boat. It would be okay Cornelius told everyone. Everyone believed their glorious leader because he would never lie. Cornelius then used his beautiful mind to think up and design a flag. The two stars described the two thing Teraan stood for. Freedom and power. The blue and white background was there because Cornelius said the blue represents the water surrounding their frigid island, in reality he just like the colors. Regardless the results were wonderful.

    Chapter 2: He's A Pretty Coal Guy

Cornelius got word that his followers to were being exiled from Pulpini. He then appropriated acres of new land as living and working space for his political friends. Just him and his family would not be able to populate such a large island because, well, that would be wierd.

    p5s6eNG.jpg

Almost immediately the people who arrived began to construct their houses. They also built the factories to build what they needed to live. Estna was growing, albeit slowly, but it was still growing.

    SEeYSkB.jpg

Cornelius was walking down the streets when he realized something. He realized he hadn't drunken in almost a year. Sims are like camels. Regardless, he then spent thousands of his friends' and family's money to build a water tower. This would hopefully create fresh-ish water for his citizens. People were going to tell him not to build it next to the dirty industries but they decided that it would be best not to argue with a man that waited 7 months to give water to his subjects.

    8AQ7Am1.jpg

With the popularity of his region growing vastly, Cornelius had to plan in even more land. The island was soon filling with people  as the newly developed area was filled into almost instantly. Also, it appeared that industries had already begun to make technological leaps in Estna and were advanced and designed to emit as little pollution as possible. This quik rise in clean industry made Cornelius ecstatic.

    ThwvadW.jpg

    NMlZ5S3.jpg

One morning their glorious leader, Cornelius, got up. He went to make some coffee when something terrible happened. It wouldn't turn on. He realized that his business and factory were out of power too. He saw lights on down the street and was utterly befuddled. Then he looked at his windmill and it was over capacity. Cornelius put it in the funding to get a new source of power.

    VeM1HJw.jpg

While working on the budget Cornelius decided to take a walk. He always like to walk while working on vital papers. He walked around and then when he got to the industrial sector he stopped in his tracks. Then he threw up into a bush. Many say that he had simply eaten some bad fish but Cornelius insisted it was the industry, he then put it in the tax form that dirty or manufacturing industry was to be taxed out the wazoo. Also agriculture but there was none so it didn't matter.

    v8Ge3qu.jpg

To further weaken industry's hold on the region, Cornelius made use of the several tons of dynamite built in one of the factory. Late one night at approximately midnight,Cornelius scheduled the destruction of the factories. It may have woken everyone up but their dear leader said it was worth it.

    2m4fc5T.jpg

With the dirty factories gone Cornelius began the construction of a new powerplant. It was determined it would be coal power plant because it was the cheapest, most efficient, and it would either mutate the fish to enormous sizes so the people would eat better or it would at least drive the fish to the shore. The coal plant was to be placed on a small island off the coast of Estna. The island first had to be terraformed until it would be good for placing buidlings on it. As it turned out, to save money, Cornelius ordered that debris from the industry actually be put into the coal plant, that's why you may occasionally see a wall made entirely out of corrugated sheet metal. Not the best material but cheap, and that's all that matters.

    jOsJSuN.jpg

Finally the plant was finished. It would generate enough power for the growing city for years to come. There would be no more energy worries as the supply of coal was endless and strangely enough the coal plant never needed to be refilled. Regardless, Estna now had the ability to become a wonderful city. This is when Cornelius ordered that before he may expand onto any other lands of Teraan, there would have to be at least 50,000 residents, preferably 100,000 but they would both be quite the task. There would be little sleep to be had for many years to come.

I like this CJ's narrative too! I'm not imaginative enough in the realm of storytelling to come up with a storyline for my cities, let alone even names for my cities (sometimes I have to use a random name generator on the internet).

I agree with TekindusT that there's no reason to keep your images hiding behind a "spoiler" tag. Just put them out there for us to see!

Chapter 3: How to Appease a Bunch of Whining Babies

Cornelius was at a town meeting one day and there seemed to be a common theme. "We need jobs!" Everyone politely wrote on their suggestion papers. Cornelius took this into consideration. He then decided that it would be a good idea to build some industry because the more industry the stronger his Free Nationalist Republic of Teraan would become. He dreamed of one day taking back the land of Pulpini. He knew his people would remember how great of a leader he was. But that was for later.

    NBG0oDI.jpg

Cornelius then noted something very annoying. The dirty industry came back. He again ordered for it to be demolished. Strangely enough the explosion of the factories caused more pollution than the factories themselves. Cornelius disregarded this though as his show was on.

    MF6Mpnq.jpg

    GzGjUrs.jpg

Immediately the industrial areas began to grow and Teraan proudly announced it was entirely self-sufficient. It also announced that Tuesday would be "Cornelius look-a-like Day".

    4d5fqd6.jpg

He realized that the industries needed slaves people to work them. Thus, Cornelius dipped into the funding the city had and spent thousands on zoning in the housing for the future workers that would bring this land to glory.

There was a strange new concept thought of. This man was sitting in a car and said, you know what, this is stupid. He then got out and sold the car. He then bought very long blue car that was big and rectangular. The man then thought, this is kind of lonely in here. How about I invite my friends?! The man then invited all his friends and they sat on this big car. The man didn't want to drive it though, so he hired a man to drive this car for him. All his friends sat down in all the seats. The man then looked in his wallet and realized he was broke. No matter, he will just charge his friends to ride in this car. The man then had a brilliant idea, he would sell this to the government and they could use it everywhere. The man called this car the Blue Ushering System.

Nice update! Although you still have a pretty "vanilla" look to your game, you have come up with a great and entertaining backstory that is very creative. You could benefit from more custom buildings, though, but in the end, it's all up to you. :)

I really like your little story of how buses originated in your fictional land. :D

I'm not sure how to make buildings or flags and I guess all my mods are practical, like NAM and such. I gave it as interesting a backstory as possible. But thank you guys! I'll try to add buildings.

    Chapter 4: A New Era

Cornelius had been living in his small house for many years. He grew tired of living in this so his adviser stated he should live in his own house as the glorious leader had deserved it. Cornelius entirely agreed and as he twiddled his amazing mustache, he dipped further into the city funding to build a mansion. He picked some prime real estate that just happened to have been vacated the day before and the neighbors were to pay no mind to the bags being carried out of the houses. Cornelius then ordered the construction of his house. His new abode oversaw the growing prosperity of the city. From his new house is where he gave a speech that would change Teraanian history forever. Cornelius began his 20 year plan. He had a plan to make the island of Estna the most secure and protected island in the world. He promised this by quadrupling the military budget and also building up the workforce. Cornelius promised his people that by the end of his plan, his nation would control much land across the entirety of Teraan. Cornelius ordered his architects to begin the designing of a military base to carry out operations to protect the island. The land would never be the same again.

    7GgJ8pf.jpg

    0tDdwTk.jpg

As a part of the plan, Cornelius ordered the zoning and building or more living quarters for the workers of Teraan. The area was zoned quick and almost immediately people flooded in. The city of Estna was booming and the industry began pumping out more and more goods, mostly armaments. Soon Cornelius would test his military might soon he hoped. The island of Estna had luckily formed on top of a massive oil supply and this is how Cornelius fueled his growing, fascist state. The city of Estna, now built on sweat, blood, oil, and hate, would be ready to make its own name for itself.

I made this update short so I could get through the boring bit that I had because I began to lose interest. I'm now done with the pre-taken images and will now begin a new update which will hopefully have more custom buildings and the like.

    News Flash!

Yesterday Teraan was hit by one of the most devastating storms in history. The entire land was blanketed in a thick later of snow within hours and the Free Nationalist Republic of Teraan was inundated with ice and snow. No cars will be leaving their garages tonight, and it is doubtful you will be able to even leave your porch. Refrain from going outside at all as current temperatures range anywhere from 0 degrees Fahrenheit to a numbing -20 degrees. If you must go out in the cold only leave with thick coats and trousers, heavy duty boots, and full face coverage. At these temperatures, hypothermia can become fatal in only minutes. Of course it is still mandatory to pay respects to our gracious leader but President Cornelius has allowed us to pay respects from our porches, with policemen watching. In related events Cornelius has added even more funding to the military budget, now paying for full facilities as he claims that if we are weak and cold, we are susceptible to being occupied. The military lottery has now begun, if your ID ends with one of these numbers you have been chosen by the government to be evaluated and drafted for our military. You will be required to train once a week with the army. The numbers are 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7. As a matter of fact that would be everyone. Of course 8 and 9 are reserved for generals and our glorious Cornelius Wilbert. Thank you for tuning in, stay safe, and glory to Teraan.

Chapter 5: The Army of Steel and Ice

Discontent was growing fast in the frozen tundra. The freezing temperatures caused shortages across the city of Estna. Ranging from fuel to milk to bread, everything was hard to find. Several streets began to divulge into chaos as neighbors killed neighbors for morsels of food. Things were looking bad as the new nation was on the verge of collapse. Cornelius could get the city more food, they just needed to calm down a bit, and he had just the plan to do this. He began by shamelessly grabbing a large chunk of the city's funds and putting it to use. He began by subsidizing the construction of ammunition and tanks. Soon this became a more common commodity than bread. Cornelius then began to plant small military outposts on certain streets.

    IdQsRWS.jpg

    iBTxje6.jpg

Cornelius then spent even more funds on building large checkpoints where things were seriously getting out of hand. Gunships now flew over the houses of the citizens daily, usually playing the national anthem. Only several times have the helicopters had to arm their weapons. There had been several food riots in the city but they were quickly ended by brute force.

    hUN74QJ.jpg

    hg3jfCA.jpg

    tOPLt5D.jpg

Finally the largest construction projects were to begin. Cornelius needed bases of operations to launch any strikes against rebel factions or rival nations. This lead to the appropriation of two major military bases to be constructed in Estna. One for land troops and another for the air force. All Teraanian troops were trained from day one how to jump. They all knew paratrooping skills as any attack would have to be by air. Estna now not only had the numbers but the strength and technology to take on anyone who might want to raise up arms against the glorious leader. The food was still an issue though and Cornelius knew he would have to handle it eventually, but riots would never be a problem. There was definitely enough military presence to protect the whole island, maybe even the region. Regardless, Cornelius dreamed of rebuilding an empire.

Chapter 6: An Addressing of Grievances

    article-2046816-0E4B7E3700000578-603_468

The food riots in Estna were vicious. It seemed that everyday there was a load of people getting huffy about the whole situation. The police's alarm went off constantly as riots began to grow in size. It got to the point where kids would sit on the corners of streets and play "count the tanks" to distract themselves from the knawing hunger in their stomachs. Casualities from the riots numbered in the dozens and neared 100 after only three days. Cornelius knew this had to stop. He then requested that his eldest son, Bouvier, be the head of a new food finding expedition. Teraanian scientists had been working for weeks on a new type of crop. It was a form of winter wheat that would hopefully flourish in the harsh climate. This new crop had been perfected, enough, and it was deemed fit for use. Bouvier had the brilliant idea to set up a sort of colony to the North of Estna. He then brought him and some settlers on a small boat to the mainland. He founded a new city, this farming village was known as Spiister. The area where this farming village was built seemed to be inhabited by locals. This natives did not seem hostile with their spears and fur. They soon left as they saw large machines of metal and smoke leaving the large, floating, metal icebergs.

    tYyfOM2.jpg

The heart of the Greater Spiister Area was of course Spiister. Here there lived only a few people, but they all lived together in harmony as they worked dusk to dawn to feed the people of Estna. The farms produced enough food to feed tens of thousands of citizens. This farming village was created in less than a month by the hard working people of Estna. Cornelius was quite pleased by the output of the area and please with his son's performance.

    xIBYzrS.jpg

The citizens of Spiister lived in constant loyalty to their glorious president. Every day they payed respects to him and then left to perform their job as the food producers of Teraan. They put all of their effort into their jobs, partly because of their love of nation, and partly because there was a military checkpoint built not far from their houses.

    HBKmC3M.jpg

The people of Spiister needed some sort of way to get goods they needed to live. Thus, reluctantly, their ruler provided them with a small financial district next to his lovely house which would be used to sell the amenities needed to live a happy and successful life, or at least theoretically.

    Kw4NiT7.jpg

What city was complete without a military base? Cornelius offered this land to his son for one thing in return, complete and utter control of the military in the region. This meant the creation of an army base and barracks behind it which would be used to keep the citizens in check. Cornelius worried about the settling of a new land because he feared that these settlers would become rebellious against their fatherland. Daily rounds were made by the army so that they could ensure the curfew was being strongly enforced. Cornelius promised protection and he would ensure it seen through.

    Chapter 7: Estna's Expansion

    bank+of+china+tower+pei+cobb+freed+&+par

With the new food Estna was now content with life. They had sustenance, protection, and the industry they needed. Now they just needed more housing. The influx of foods caused a baby boom in the city. New zones were quickly established for housing to be built for the new families. This zone may have cost a lot of money to build but it would pay out in the end when the city grows to monumental proportions. In only a few years the city has gone from not existing to being a regional force.

    0cMyX0N.jpg

The new citizens would also need jobs to keep them busy and to also make them useful in Teraanian society. Industry owners in the city were thus granted many more acres of land to spread their factories and research buildings. It was estimated that approximately 50 more tanks could be produced a year with these new industries. That really was all that Cornelius worried about, the tank statistics.

    Yat1yjl.jpg

The people of Estna were grateful to their leader eternally. The citizens now had food on their plates and no reason to riot, for the moment. The people thus decided to show their gratitude. Together they brought the finest sculptors of Estna (a steel worker, a kindergarten teacher, and one of her students who is really good with sculpting clay). They spent months working on the statue and finally, it was finished. It was beautiful, at least for what they had. It was proclaimed, and somewhat mocked, in the Pulpini Gazette as "World's Vaguest Statue" as the people of Pulpini watched on in amusement a their exile colony floundered.

    8C2Osv6.jpg

Cornelius looked at the industrial lands zoned in Estna and saw nothing but snow and empty streets. He pondered the problem for days until he suddenly had the idea "why not spend more money on other things??" It was seemingly flawless. Cornelius took more funds and created a large seaport near the industrial area, with the land icy hard and difficult to dig up, just the terraforming cost as much as the building itself. the Secretary of Treasury was disappointing in his leader, but preferred not to say that to him.

    UxUES1h.jpg

Cornelius had grown far too tired of the failure of the industrial land. He was irritated beyond no belief and ended up once again selling the land. This time it was sold to would-be businesses that hoped to become corporate empires in the growing town of Estna. Cornelius hoped his nation would be able to grow as it seemed to be stagnating under the frigid temperatures. That's what the cold does though, it slow you down. It would take a blast of heat to bring Teraan into power and onto a global scale

    vZvqRvt.jpg

Finally the industry began to flourish. The resource rich island was plundered for its booty as the industries took in the materials and made them into sell-able products. Small business, under the watchful eye of Big Brother, took these materials and sold them to foreign markets using the seaport built by the municipal government. These new businesses were booming and trade was flourishing. Teraan was accumulating both people and capital. The trade market was growing and the government was finally self-sustaining and perfect, in Cornelius' eyes. With this new wealth Cornelius funded for the building of a massive structure. It pushed the budget and the workers to extreme boundaries, but it would be complete regardless. An enormous skyscraper was built in record time, incredible what can be done quickly with "coercion", and now jutted out of the landscape in an unusual fashion. It was named, Bank of Estna and would be the hub for all finances in the city and the nation itself. Cornelius watched with pride as the building was finished and opened for business.

The city was growing. Soon it would have to shed its industrial smog for capitalist mountains of glass and synergy. The people would need their products from somewhere and Cornelius had just the plan, but that was for another day. Right now, he stared down from his helicopter in majesty at what he had created. Under his careful surveillance, a thriving town had been created out of dirt and fear. Soon the town would grow to a city and Estna would become a map marker, not a mere dot. People would place their tacks on their world map showing they went to the best city in the world, and this is exactly what he wanted.
