NAM 32 Question

Pertaining to Neighborhood Connection:  When I place a road to the edge of the map an it shows the arrow that I have a connection the city I'm trying to connect to doesn't show any such road connecting to it once I load it up.

Q: Is that suppose to be like that now?

If the road connection fails (arrow disappears) you  need to find out why.  Perhaps there is no suitable land on the next tile, or you've laid something on top of it.  In the latter case, drag the road off the edge again to verify the connection.

Yup, sometimes you just have to redraw it. In rare cases, the terrain was too steep at this point, and the road won't show up on the next tile, no matter what you do.

I've come across that once in a while when laying down a neighbor connection and noticed the connection arrows aren't there.  but once I bulldoze that spot on the connection  I built and rebuild the connection, the arrow will appear and the connection shows complete.  Hope that helps

Thanks for all the advice guys. With further ado I have to admit how stupid I feel. Some how while I was playing my city I rotated the map an when I connected the street an exited to the region the city I thought it would appear in was on the opposite side although while in the city it appeared that it would be in the city on the right. If that makes any sense.

    Yeah, that's quite easily done.

Tip: When connecting to a neighbour, make sure the compass points to north in the city. This will ensure all connections correspond to region view, which can't be rotated.

Yup, took the words right out of my keyboard.  Try to think of the directional arrow as north and use compass points for other directions.

If you ever get to the point of doing terraforming on a local level, you'll find that it's only the NW corner of any one ground tile is what's actually being effected. This helps when you want to create nice approaches to your bridges and such.

Hi Guys, I have a question about The NAM 32 Roundabouts. When I place a roundabout then drag ave's to it, it creates these ugly "grass" like squares on the OUTSIDE of it. I want to fill it in with some nice type of "texture" (IDK). I just want it to look nicer than the ugly grass that is automatically put there by the Ave's. Does anyone have a suggestion of a downlaod that will fix this?? Thanks for your help.

Are you using Avenue Roundabouts from the menus or just street roundabouts you've drawn?  A picture would help.

I am using the NAM roundabouts from the menu. Then I am using the Maxis Avenues to draw to it. I will put a pic up when I get home from work. Here is a link to a pic I found here. It's just to show you what I want to achieve around the roundabout.

I don't know how the 1x1 filler lot shows what your trying to achieve.  Are you trying to build the roundabout like the one in the picture?  If so you need to draw the roundabout using the One way road tool and draw a 3x3 box,

If your using the new turbo roundabouts you need to plop the roundabout piece on top of the existing avenue to hook up the ave.

If its neither of these scenarios let me know.

The way I see it, you want to get rid of the wealth grass triggered by low density zoning or by zoned avenues on avenues roundabouts

Try with the file attached below in your plugins and make sure it loads after the Roundabouts folder that is located in NAM

Thanks to everyone who answered me. Magneto, I think you got it correct but I'm not only looking to get rid of that wealth grass but I need a filler piece to put there, like stone, gravel, cement etc, Do you know of any filler pieces that will work for that area?
