I'm saving this post to be some sort of sweet table of contents page that will be awesome one day.

So I've finally gotten around to installing everything I needed to start BATing. As of right now, I've only been BATing for around 7 hours now, and after reading numerous tutorials, I think I have a very feint grasp on the BAT tool. It is only Day 1 so I hope I can greatly improve from here.  :)

This is my first BAT I'm working on, just a generic office tower right now. Somewhere along the way, I forgot to add windows and a door, so any help in that regard would be great!

I think once I model some roof junk, it'll be time for texturing.

Here is what I have so far, a very rough draft  :P

Any suggestions on what I should do or any tips are encouraged!

Thanks for checking out my thread   :D

Great start. Addind windows and doors is quite easy. just draw a rectangle and in the "Mesh Settings" check "Display Mesh" and the thickness should be around 0,1-0,15. Than draw another rectangle but this time, instead of checking Display mesh, go to Modifiers, UV Coordinates and than add an UVW Map, and you got yourself a window :)

Your floor height is a bit too underscaled too....ideally floor height should be 4.5-5m or scaled 133% from it's original height.

Bumping this because I have 3DS Max now, everything working, and following Jasoncw's tutorials.

I missed the BAT'ing school :( so now I have my own little class with my self :P

    I am using BAT4Max on 3DS Max 2015.

I would show what I am working on, but when I go to preview and save the image, I just get a very tall blank png, with my model at the very bottom.

The original size was about 500x9000. If someone could tell me what I'm doing wrong in the preview area, that would be great :)

Also, feel free to link any tutorials or videos that you think would help. I'm looking forward to getting started on something soon!

It's the LODs, you created the ground plane before you created the LODs. To fix, right click -> unhide all -> yes. right click -> unfreeze all -> yes. then delete the enormous boxes and plane that will be there. Then reset LODs and make a new ground plane.

If that's not the problem it's the units, and you have to go to preferences -> (there's some menu with units in the title, it's that one) -> There will be a popup box, I'm not sure what it's called but it's something along the lines of global units, it should be another popup. Change that to meters.

The LODs was the issue, and that fixed it! Thanks

This is what I'm working on right now, just a generic office building.

I scaled the dimensions up by 133%. It is 28m tall, and the base is 20m x 18m.
