I just called it the sun dome early on becuase of the orange colors but i had them changed and then the hole in the roof was removed and the building no longer has a sunny feal. How about the Ocular Collosuem

Ocular Collosuem? That's a little awkward for a stadium name. I like the theme of a human eye though. By the way, do you know what size lot it's gonna be on?

There's a convention center in Salt Lake City called the Salt Palace, and I like the idea of putting the suffix palace for its name. It sounds different.

How about:

The Vista Palace (vista meaning sight...)

Sportsland Palace

i say you stick with Sun Dome, good luck on rendering this! im having a hard time rendering my stadium . how many polys is it up to now?

Funny you mention rendering JT. I just finished a test render in 3ds it took about 4 hours though and thats with no night lighting. As for poly count im hovering in the 2 million area.

 

Although i doubt i will be able to render it anytime soon due to some difficulties with nightlighting and the 3ds bat. With out the ability to test nightlights in 3ds im really lost and i cant seem to come anywhere close to where i need to be wiht lighting. So until a new version of bat for 3ds is released with nightlighting im very much stuck. Anyways good luck rendering your stadium JT im sure it will be quite a challange in the normal bat.

 

As for the arena name im just going to stick with Ocular Collosuem. Anyways when was the last time a new stadium was built in your home town and you liked the name? Ohwell the user will be able to name it whatever they want anyways.

Keep the sun dome name. Thats what it looks like, and it's not specialized to a specific city name and the word sun is universal.

Well guys darkmatter is sort of playing around with a way to preview buildings in 3dsmax in night so im kind of waiting for that. As for Walnut plaza i think im going to have to retexture it in max it will be atleast 3 weeks off though and thats minimum as i just started school monday and im in AP Calculus AP English AP Economics and AP Chem 2 plus i have year book and newpaper duties.

Well its been alittle while sense i have been able to mess with this with school and some problems with 3ds max. But i got both to cooperate today and im working hard to get night lighting just right. So here is a preview although its more of a photoshop edit of what it should look like.

While i finish the Sun Dome i think im going to start a new really quick project and i was hoping i could get some help with some stats on this building. Anyways im sure you can guess what it is.

All that is really left is adding cables and then some other minor things aswell as some detail around the base. Also im not sure how large this thing really is and i dont think it looks quite right.
