This is happening to me too when placing the initial road puzzle piece for creating an overpass. Date: 8/4/2005 2:08:08 AM Author: fisherman783 Oh, one more, Tropod. Assuming this is the appropriate thread for bugs... seems like it. Note the odd diamond-shaped pit... it was spontaneously created upon plopping. I've had this happen with both varieties of the 'OnSlope' road puzzle pieces, too. I believe I've used the road pieces more than the others, but so far it's only the road puzzle pieces that have done this. Coincidince? I don't know, but hopefully you guys will be able to figure it out. quote>

Thanks everyone for the great comments! Sorry for the lack of updates, I'm currently out of town and using a poor dial-up connection just to type this....when I get back I want to post an update slightly different than my previous ones.....we're goin Rural. Stay Tuned....

GLENNI: Thanks! Hope I can keep ya entertained with future updates. MissTonya: Any particular requests? ...Never know what might pop up! oroen: Thanks for the comments...and for the road construction stuff. I couldn't remember who made those, but I've downloaded several different construction lot sets from the STEX...wish there were more so I could make a really realistic road construction pic! To answer your question... The Southeast Expressway is intersection-free in its entirety. It runs from I-477 on the east side of the airport, past the southeast corner of the airport itself where it gathers the traffic from the avenue tunnel coming from Milanta, then continues along to join up with I-77. It turned out rather nicely..IMHO...and is heavily traveled with all the residential developments nearby heading to the interstates. In total there are 4 or 5 on ramps onto the expressway. I'm working on an update for later tonight and will try to get some more pics of the expressway design. Thanks all...and stay tuned for an update coming soon....Dolby Ridge is on the docket for this one...

Traffic_Jam, jacqulina and cifa - thanks for the positive comments! Inspires me to keep working. Jerebannus XVI: Thanks, I think you'll like the northern suburbs...they're more ritzy and designed somewhat more artistically gurrgkud: Welcome back! That road project is gonna be a one heck of a makeover...I downloaded the slope mod thing and have since started re-doing my railroads, highways and avenues. Lemme tell ya...that's one heck of a project in the northern suburbs because of all the hilly terrain! I'm not real fond of that road around the Western terminal either...but when I made it there wasn't any other way to get the sims to the control tower (which makes the airport function). With all the new ped mall stuff out though, I think I may try to replace the road with some of that. newyorkrunaway1: Sheesh, I'm gonna have to really step it up to keep my updates better than the last... petriknl: One thing I'm really trying to do with this whole CJ is to keep the city in flow with the terrain...and in some places on this map that's going to make for some very interesting building strategies.... StormyNight: What kind of capitol city area would we have without a little corrupt actions going on....

MayorTim: I really have no idea why I had that one area where 5 of those darn things popped up. They haven't shown up anywhere else...yet. There were originally 7 of them...I've since demolished two...but I have to take them down gradually or it totally messes up my demand stuff (each one houses 4000+ people). When I tried taking all of them out at once, it caused about half of my downtown area to abandon....not good! Tomirish: [Editted] You can now get the diagonal streets mod in the 7/25/2005 release of the NAM. Thanks to MiniMark and vester_DK below who posted that information. StormyNight: Thanks again for your comments...they're much appreciated. Cheers.

bienefeldt: Thanks for the comments. That interstate under the park deal was probably the hardest part of the city so far because I hadn't ever really done a tunnel like that before, but it turned out kinda cool. Nardo69: If rail is your thing, wait for some of the suburb areas. Also, when I get into some of my rural development and what-not, rail will be a bigger part. For you and oroen I've been working to smooth some of the roads...particularly the interstate and railways in my cities. I think you'll notice it more in the suburb areas (which are newer developments so I did a few things differently). Perhaps Milanta needs to set aside some funding for street repair.... hammo: I'll try and find that cul-de-sac mod superchad: Patience patience my child...just kiddin. The airport lies south of the city, I'm working on a little more development around it and then I'll get it on here in an update. Most of my remaining updates of the areas around Milanta will be residential areas, perhaps with some small commercial sectors...and of course the airport. Thanks a lot for all the comments folks. I'll get an update up today.

This is a pretty cool idea. I would agree its tough to get a fair rating system that gives up and coming CJs a realistic chance of cracking the top 10...but perhaps there is an easier way to do that... Since you've got the Hall of Fame thing going. What if once a CJ makes the HOF you remove it from the Top 10, thus allowing new CJs to gradually move up. Since a CJ needs 5 weeks at #1 (or 1000 points) it would take a decent pace to cycle through. This way, when you make a post with the latest Top 10 list, you could have 1-10, then down below or something list out all those in the HOF. Just an idea.... Cheers.

StormyNight: Thanks, if you think those are ritzy areas though, wait until I show you the wealthy northern suburbs.... petriknl: Like I said to StormyNight, if you like the suburbs in this update, you'll love the outer suburb cities. Also...for the farm land...I think we can find a place on this map..... (notice the TIIIINY little speck of development that is the 5 large maps currently forming Milanta and its surrounding area. https://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//milantaregionFULL.jpg align=baseline> jacqulina: Thanks for the comments, always nice to get some...inspires to continue. Update to follow....

Thanks for the comments! gurrgkud: I'm working on trying to get some parks worked into the downtown skyline...thinking maybe along the Lake on the north side of the interstate would work. I will tell you though....my suburbs are much greener than the cement and glass wonderland that is the downtown area. Those will come soon.... djrules5454_simtropolisedition: I'm kinda picky that way! newyorkrunaway1: Somehow I knew that one was coming.... there's always one .... Side note: The Milanta City Council has set aside funding for the rebuilding and remodeling of the Milanta SeaPort. Stay Tuned...
