Yes, in old English script there are two consonants for that, yot and thorn.

Alas, too late.  English scripting needs a thorough overhaul.  Won't happen.  Is a language full of diacritic marks more primitive or more advanced?

When is a bonnet not a headpiece?  When it is the hood of a car in the U.K.  There are many, many Examples of the variants of HM English all across the Commonwealth and indeed the world in general.

One has to be careful in Engrish.  One could ask how often one has an election, and make a faux pas of the first kind.

What is really needed is some universally understood language that can be translated into any other. Like binary. Pity humans aren't robots eh

See if you can find your local Esperanto club.  And there is always Klingon.

I think binary would be better, but we'd need brain chips and have to become robots and stuff

Binary can only deal with integers.  Not very useful, even if zero is allowed.  The old skull tank with its analogue processor and associative memory has done fine for a few million years, so why look to something that has only been around since Babbage?  Obsession with robotics is something one grows out of.

Then again, the voiced and voiceless dental frictative are pretty much found only in English and Icelandic; and are difficult for foreigners.

Think the difference between THe and THistle.

Greek has them too. And (some dialects of) Spanish of course :)

    Telephones are analogue devices.

Nierna uses it a bit too. /Siθ/ = This and /dɽaðaɽ͡r/ = Vampire
