Changes to spoken English?

Of course, politics and current events rapidly change language.  I saw when I was young how quickly the suffix "gate" after Watergate become an indicator for scandal.

But for non-politics and not current events what do you have for rapidly changing English?

I am thinking of the word "merch" has taken about a year to start replacing "merchandise".

Got, any good ones?

I was watching one of Simon Roper's videos on Youtube the other day, and he mentioned another of those changes: using "was like" instead of "say" when recalling conversations. He used it to give an example of how, sometimes, verbs that serve an specific function are replaced by phrases, and the verb dissapears.

I actually faced all these issues while I was an international student in the UK. It was hard for me to write essays and projects due to "old style" English gramma I was using back in the time. It was touch for me to do it and I needed literature review writing help 100%.
