I bought some cheap headphones at a Chinese 1 imports store out of curiosity, just listened to some music with them and it sounds like the sound when a car with heavy bass drives by, such a muddy sound lol.

Looks like its back to audio technica for me.

3601: Sehnheiser is great quality for the price.

Back in the day when I had a fullsize 3-CD changer stereo system (remember those? :P) in my bedroom, I had a pair of cordless headphones to go with it so that I might listen to music anywhere in the house without disturbing people. These were made by Senheiser. They were nice headphones in terms of sound quality although their ability to hold a charge degraded to below useful after a couple years.

Now, you might ask, why not just use a Walkman? Well, I didn't use the cordless headphones much after I got one of those. But I had the headphones first... probably because my parents could get away with buying only one set of them, whereas once I got a Walkman both my sisters had to have one too.

My parents say one of the best decisions they ever made was getting us all Gameboys (the original ones with the gray-and-green screen).  They said it made vacation travel so quiet and easy, so they very rarely got only one of us something like that.  If one of us had it, the other three did, too.

First off, the post count here is really close to mine. 3600 on me, by the way.

On long car rides, I look out the window if there's a city in sight, and if not i play on my 3DS. Guess what game I play!

My parents decided to buy ONE Game Boy Advance SP before we went on a trip to Cleveland, which we were expected to share. We were each allowed to buy one game. Of course, what ended up happening is that both of my sisters played their games for a little bit and then lost interest, while I kept playing mine and got more, so the GBA had within a year become mine by default.

This happened with our PSP and PS2 as well. They originally belonged to the whole family. But they're mine now since no one else wanted them anymore.

My sister and I shared many things. In some cases toys were bought for both of us. One in particular I recall was a cabbage patch doll. I never wanted one but they were so popular when I was 3 or 4 my parents assumed I wanted one. I just went along with it. Glenn Gavin was his name I think.

I never had a walkman cd but I almost got a walkman phone, however I instead went with blackberry and haven't looked back since.

So I got MLB 14 the show today and I've already played 6 full games in the season, this game is just that awesome.

I got my first cellphone in the summer of 2004, it was some generic flip phone. Was replaced with a new generic flip phone in the summer of 2006, which I stubbornly held onto despite it getting old and beat up (but it still worked!) for five years, until summer 2011. That was when I buckled and joined the smartphone club, and got a Motorola Droid 3. That phone lasted about 20 months until it broke - the touch screen stopped responding to touch. One frantic trip to the Verizon store later it was replaced with a Motorola Droid 4 (which I've now had for just over a year), since they told me that fixing the problem with my old phone would cost more than me just buying a new one.

I have much to complain about with regards to modern technology's lack of robustness - I've owned 7 digital cameras in 9 years, I seem to need a new pair of headphones every 6-12 months, and a new mouse every 3-6 months... all because the damn things keep breaking! Part of my reason for not wanting to get rid of that flip phone was that it had proven itself to be reliable and capable of lasting, a rare and valuable trait that its "smart" successor turned out to not have.

My wife has a similar problem to Duke, although with her I think it comes down to a more general carelessness than anything else.  I try to drag my machines out for years before I have to replace them.  My smartphone is doing alright a year and a half in, while my wife's on her third.  Or is it fourth?  Well, whatever, either way thank god for that insurance plan we're on.  My former Acer laptop went for something like 5 years before it just got too ruined to run properly (the disc drive wasn't working when we finally decommissioned it) and now I'm nearing the end of the second year for this here laptop.  My headphones need to last because I like this style and now that they're all these funky earbuds you stick all the way into your ears, it's important to me to keep this style.  They're not such great quality, but at least they're reasonably comfortable.

The mouses I'm buying are cheap, but the headphones and cameras I'm buying are not. I think it's more a question of I have a habit of breaking things because I'm rough with them and put them through a lot of abuse. Not because I intend to but because I do so naturally and would have to make a very conscious effort not to.

Earphones is a big deal for me. I'd rather buy an expensive branded one or none at all. Cheap earphones has this weird not so fantastic sound and I find listening to music using them useless. Hahaha

Over-the-ear ones also keep your ears warmer in cold weather, which is a nice bonus.

To search for the ideal city today is useless. For all cities are different. Each one has its own spirit, its own problems, and its own pattern of life. As long as the city lives, these aspects continue to change. Thus to look for the ideal city is not only a waste of time but may be seriously detrimental. In fact, the concept is obsolete; there is no such thing.

I don't like earbuds to be honest, I find them uncomfortable. I only use over-the-ear earphones. I rarely use headphones too, I don't want to walk around the town wearing something as big as a headphone.

On the topic of earphones/earbuds, the Earbuds in Team Fortress 2 have a higher price than actual Apple earbuds.

I'm currently on my 7th cellphone. 3 of them have been smart phones. I have been using the same mouse since 2011 and my ear buds are about a year old. Both work fine but lately the left button on the mouse (you know, the important one) has been finicky.

My first smart phone was a Motorola Bionic and it was great. I left it at a bus top and had to replace it with a Razr that was a total piece of junk. I just got a Galaxy s4 mini and it's a pretty good phone. Plus the s5 came out not too long ago so I got this one almost for free. There's always a charge when you switch phones it seems. In this case it was something like $32.50.

Anyway, the older phones I had before smart phones seemed to last way longer. My first 4 phones lasted from 2000 - 2011. Then 3 smart phones in 3 years. What's that tell ya?

Honestly, if not for the wifi capabilities and games, I'd throw away my current phone and switch to Nokia 3310. Too bad that the company is now being renamed. :(

I'm not really thinking about appearance. I honestly can't remember the last time I was wearing headphones outside was. It is quite possible that I have not since high school. Of course, aside from in my car, I don't ever listen to music outside, so there's really no need. My headphones are used in my apartment so that I don't disturb the neighbors.

My wife listens to truly awful music and watches horrifyingly bad TV shows, so we use headphones at night after our kids are asleep so we don't annoy each other with our entertainment choices.

Interesting difference NMUSpidey. In my family, my siblings and mother would constantly watch junk Filipino soap opera, so what I do is lock myself in the room and watch in the laptop instead. I only use earphones when the sound is too soft to be heard or it might be already super late at night.

One thing I hate is being in a car (or anywhere) with a group of people and everyone puts their headphones in and listens to their own stuff. To me, this is rude. If you are amongst a group of family or friends, you should not shut yourself out from being able to interact with them.

Likewise, people who fall asleep in the car. Now I can't talk to them, nor can I blast music and act like I'm by myself. It's the worst of both worlds.

Well, about sleeping in a car, it's indeed totally rude, especially when you left the driver all awaken alone. That is total rude. But, sometimes people can tolerate, sometimes not.

( Me and my parents are the people that not tolerate sleeping, except for long distance trip.)

I can't currently play the radio in my car because I had it serviced and I can't remember the unlock code. Maybe I could call the dealership where I bought the car.
