I always take my shoes off at the front door and leave them there. In my family people don't usually wear shoes around their own house when they're home alone. People in my parents' generation do put on shoes when they have guests and don't take theirs off when they are visiting someone else, because their sense of decorum says shoes are necessary to be completely dressed and presentable to others. But in my generation we run around in our socks and don't care.

Meanwhile I have this one friend who never takes his shoes off ever, he even sleeps with them on. He has a phobia of bare feet.

4739: True, but games about killing Nazis are getting old. I would find interesting q game where you could play as the Germans against the Allies interesting, just without the genocide implications.

It's not even that, I'd like the setting to be pre pearl harbor back before the war began and the whole story could be told not just the oh they are evil ect. There is more to the story that is often overlooked.

[sarcasm]I wonder why it is that Nazis always get all that hate especially in video games...[/sarcasm]

You are only looking at the bad parts, certain people pan them because of their personal reasons, but there was a lot of good they were doing too, well maybe good wasn't the right choice of word but I mean research wise, they were excellent at engineering.

Besides, without getting too far into it there was a reason people got angry, It wasn't just blind evil for the sake of evil, If you were forced to live like post WW1 Germany you would have a lot of hate too.

4743: Any positive merit of the Nazi regime is very controversial and hence, I'd prefer it discussed not in this thread. Anyways...

It's the Labour Day long weekend here. The irony is we are supposed to get a day off from work, yet I find myself working twice as hard otherwise my owners... ehrm, boss will beat me :P

Want play the Germans and conquer the world?

Want to play the French and prevent being overrun?

Want to play as Portugal and just stay out of everything?

You can! Hearts of Iron III. Play and manage any country you want leading up to and during WWII. It's a grand strategy game by Paradox. Although Hearts of Iron 4 is in development. Also, Hearts of Iron is probably one of their hardest games to learn. But hey, if you want to stare at maps all day and play as anyone in the allies/axis/soviets/anyone else then maybe you'd be interested.

4754: When you say fifty degrees, I think of extremely hot weather that we get on occasion in Summer (didn't happen this year). If it were 50 degrees, I would be leaving my house, packing everything and getting out of there as fast as I can.

Okay, fine, it was 10 degrees and the snow was melting. Celsius is weird. :P

Although mostly why it's weird is that it also uses the word "degrees". When you say kilometers I won't mistake them for miles because it's a different word.

I'm so used to using C now.  I'm sure I'll readjust instantly when our plane lands back in Detroit, though.

It's been 10-15C every day for the last two or three weeks.  We barely got any snow at all this year, certainly nothing like last year.

Good news is forecast says it's supposed to actually stay warm. So none of the sickness-inducing rollercoaster ride between 50 degrees and below freezing that we saw in March the last couple years.

The piles of show in the parking lot of my local shopping plaza are still a good ten feet high. This winter wasn't too bad in western PA. Plenty of snow but it came in manageable amounts.

We had snow only at the New Year which made all the unprepared tourists from Tokyo spin their cars around off the road and into the woods on the mountain road, preventing me from going up to town to get gas.  Now it's so windy that my 2.5-year-old daughter falls down if she goes outside.  Next week it's supposed to be nicer, though.  Less chilly.

In clearing the parking lot at the local Target they were using bulldozers to put all the snow in one huge pile. But they didn't clear everything out of the way first so several shopping carts also got bulldozed into this pile. They were buried but now that the pile is melting a bunch of askew shopping carts are being revealed and it's kind of a weird sight.

The same plaza I mentioned has a similar problem behind the grocery store. If I'm not buying a lot I walk there from the back as I live behind the plaza. Kids are always pushing shopping carts into the tiny creek that runs behind the store. Many an askew cart is poking out of that at the moment as well.

I got my little brother a PS4 for Christmas. I play it a little, really just for Dying Light. It's fun, but I don't really feel like buying any games for it. My brother can do that. He enjoys the thing, but I've mostly turned him into a PC gaming masterrace type kid.

    Now back to city building...

I do not own any of the big three current gen consoles, although I will be getting a WiiU at some point soon, because Smash. I am not in the market for a PS4 or XB1 and will not be unless a game I absolutely must play is released exclusively for them. With Mega Man and Duke Nukem both being effectively dead franchises, Mighty No. 9 getting released for everything, and most other things I'd tend to be into being Nintendo's intellectual property, that is unlikely. But I won't say never.
