Thanks for the compliments, everyone, I really appreciate them. 9.gif

Mayor of Tempest Lake: Who says there needs to be one? Ocean Point doesn't have any huge skyscrapers; it's mostly a low-rise city. There is a gradual increase in density from downtown to the suburban, then rural areas. What I have here is complete realism, and that's what I'm going for. Realism may not look as stunning as having huge skyscrapers, but at least it's realistic. Besides, there is more than one way to build a city, you know.

    To All:

Terraforming on the southen expansion area will begin soon. I'm excited to get it underway.

It's been a while since my last visit, but nice work on the updates Comdude. You have a great-looking region - and I'm looking forward to the southward expansion.

Thanks for the compliments everyone, as always I very much appreciate them.

Now on to the next update- not the southern expansion just yet, as that will take a good deal of time to terraform and such, but on Pinewood Flats in the western part of the region.

This town (Pop. 7,543) has become a wealthy suburb in its quiet location

Pinewood Flats used to be completely undeveloped, save for I-68, North Pinewood Ave. and a couple of other roads running through it. Now, it's a thriving town.

The suburban sprawl in the towns bordering Pinewood Flats, which are Great Bend to the south and Marshland to the east, has helped Pinewood Flats grow.

Before it was developed, Pinewood Flats looked like this, a barren, empty land covered in pines and oaks:

    before4io.jpg

Pinewood Flats has since grown into the sprawling, yet quiet town that it is now. It is far enough from Ocean Point to have much activity, but it is close enough for commuters to go to and from both locations, which have helped to make it a very wealthy town.

The first subdivision that was built in Pinewood Flats, The Woods at Pinewood Flats, has two gazebos at its entrance, along with gardens leading to nice homes. It also has two tennis courts that only residents and their guests are allowed to play on:

    1stsubdivision3ds.jpg

Marshland Rd. has become a main road in Pinewood Flats, and it is important enough to get its own I-68 exit. For years a simple bridge crossed the highway for the road, but now, there is a complete exit interchange for the road:

The Pinewood Flats Industrial Park, located in the northeastern part of town, is the only industrial area in the entire town:

Pinewood Flats Trees and Shrubs Inc. has set up in eastern Pinewood Flats, boasting a nice farm with plenty of plants:

Part Two of the Pinewood Flats update is slated for tomorrow.

Excellent work my man! Pinewood Flats is looking like a playground for the rich, just the way I like it! That last shot with the Victorian mansion is simply spectacular, suburban SC4 at its finest. Can't wait to see some shots of the southern expansion!

If you wanted your city to look cool why not add a commercial office, (not really tall but tall) right next to a highway interchange, with a street linking it to other roads. then sorround it by trees. or you add a commercial park with $$ commercial services.

Thanks for the great compliments everyone, I very much appreciate them as always.

    toxicpiano: No, for three reasons:

    1. What you have in mind isn't very realsitic for Pinewood Flats.
    2. I don't have the plopp mod (And I won't get it either) so I have no control over the sizes of buildings save for zoning.
    3. If you specifically want CS$$, look at the picture of downtown Pinewood Flats.

To All: I won't be around from later today until Friday. So, the first southern expansion update probably won't come for 10 days or so.

Just checking back here. I'm surprised there aren't any comments, but that's the way it goes these days.

Anyways, yes, there will be a sporadic update here and there this summer. The southern expansion will be a slow process. I may fool around with the NAM, which I'm taking a look at now. 10.gif

Thanks TMS. At least somebody replied.

I'm still not sure about the NAM yet and I'm not sure about the future of this CJ either. I don't know whether or not I will continue to update before the southern expansion terraforming. For now, expect to see at least some of the southern expansion terraformed in an update by next weekend.

if you dont continue this CJ i understand because sometimes we get bored or RLS comes in and we lose interest in SC4 or the region that we are working on...

but if you do keep going i bet itll be someof the best ever in this CJ!!

Thanks for the compliments Mexicanboy and TMS.

EDIT: Ok, I'll say it a little shorter this time.

First, this CJ may be suspended soon and if I stop posting here, it might be done for good.

Second, let me say this. If you want to leech off this CJ without replying back, get the heck out of here. You're ruining all the fun for everyone else.

I will miss your updates.  Sorry for not repling.  It sure does look like so many kids are crying about everything these days.  You still should stay.  did you not put this great cj on here because you are proud? If so keep it going even for yourself.     If you go thanks for all the great updates

TMS: Yeah, it sucks but I guess it's just the way it goes. This place will never be like it was in 2003 but at least it's still here.

rufusleeken: Lol, I'll admit that most of that stuff that I posted was just a bunch of excuses for a general lack on interest (goes to edit post), but in short, I don't like people leeching off my work. Thanks for the compliments btw.

Well this is saddening to hear from you Comdude. I do agree that CJs are not what they used to be a year or so ago. Now it is very competitive, especially when you see people's city journals posted in a signature and yours isn't in there. Sometimes it makes your city journal seem worthless. But that's not the point here. The point is, if you want to take a break, go right ahead. I've taken a break before, and a few months later I've gotten into ST and Sc4 again. Hopefully if you take a break, you'll build up an interest again and possibly start a fresh city journal. And with the comments, I want to personally say I'm sorry for not commenting that much here anymore. I use to comment every update, but life gets in the way of Simtropolis. I don't update as much on my city journal either anymore. Hopefully if you decide to leave you will come back soon and entertain us with your magic again!!

Mikeaut: I actually did leave this CJ from last September until January, over five months, so I don't have a big problem with doing that. However, I don't think ST will ever be the same as it used to be again. With the sig links to CJs, there are 5 or 6 that have Ocean Point in them but most of them are, like you are, the good followers that have stayed with this CJ for a long time. I'm not big on the sig links to other ppl's CJs, but that's just me, because those are new. Don't worry if you're not commenting as much as before. I don't spend more than maybe 30 minutes on ST a day now anyway, so I understand. If I do keep working on OP or start a new region, I would probably be willing to PM you pictures of it if I do decide to suspend this CJ. 10.gif

jacqulina: Thanks, but for the reasons above, I don't know if I'm going to keep going with this or not.
