I agree. Looking great.29.gif However, I think the avenues and roads are a bit crazy. You might wanna fix those up.

RHF: Thanks for the compliments. 10.gif

trixin: Thanks, but I don't know what you mean by that, though. These roads are realistic, and that's all there is to it.

    To All:

I plan on developing Pinwewood Flats soon. By developing that area, the regional sprawl will look very realistic and accurate. That is the only thing I have to do before I make the southern expansion.

    Thanks for the compliments everyone.

I have made a large update for Great Bend, with nine pictures. However, Imageshack isn't working for some reason. So, the update will be delayed. It will be an awesome update, though. 10.gif

    Thanks simworld.

To All: ImageShack is working again, so I can post the big Great Bend update. Sit back, relax, and enjoy what I think is a very enjoyable update. 3.gif

This rather small town on the Pinewood has a lot going for it

Great Bend, a town with a population of 16,827, is one of the most ofently visited towns in the region.

    GREAT BEND'S HISTORY

The main reason for its popularity is its history. Great Bend was first settled by the British in 1677. Prior to that, Native Americans had forts in the area. The colonists built their own fort, Fort Pinewood, in the present-day location of Great Bend on the south banks of the Pinewood River. The towns of Pinewood, East Pinewood, South Pinewood, North Pinewood, and Pinewood Flats, the Pinewood River, Pinewood State Forest and Pinewood County are just a few of the places that were also given the name Pinewood.

Great Bend was founded in 1765. During the American Revolution, the town was the site of a key base for the Americans. After the war, Great Bend thrived as a commercial center in the area, before Ocean Point really took of as a resort city along the coast.

Today, 124 historical structures still stand in Great Bend, making it one of the largest historical districts in the area.

    GREAT BEND TODAY

Great Bend continues to thrive as a historical landmark, and it is also a high-priced town where many wealthy sims reside. It also has a large, thriving high-tech industrial park, which provides the reigion with many jobs.

I-31 runs east/west across Great Bend. I-68 goes through the northeastern corner of the town. Route 99 runs along the south banks of the Pinewood River, and Route 34 meets Route 99 in downtown Great Bend.

Here is an overview picture of Great Bend, showing most of the town's important places.

hobostank: I guess you're talking about the start of the CJ, which was last July, and it looks like you joined last September, so I don't know what you mean. Thanks for the compliments though.

To All: I could hardly beleive that there was only one comment after that update, but oh well. 3.gif

I'll let everyone have more time to view the update as I prepare for the next update. The next update should come by Wednesday. The southern expansion will be underway soon. I know it keeps getting delayed, but beleive me, I'm excited to make this region larger.

Luckily, I have the time to reply to each comment right now. 10.gif

RHF: Thanks for the compliments. I take a lot of pride in Great Bend, so I'm really glad you like it. Don't worry about not commenting sooner; you've supported this CJ so much that I will always be in debt to you.

dhoppe: Thanks for the compliments. It's great to hear you liked the history- it took me a long time to write.

    Simworld: Thanks for the compliments.

Amryai: Thanks, and I'm really glad you like the history and historic district.

amal81: Thanks. I don't use streets for a few of reasons:

    1. There are no fully functional diagonal streets.
    2. They don't have as much traffic capacity as roads, and having them would really hurt my commute times.
    3. They don't show up in the regional transportation view.

And no, I don't use the NAM.

    To All:

There should be an update by Saturday. Look out for that southern expansion.

    Thanks for the compliments, RHF.

I hate to make everyone wait for the southern expansion, but it'll come, don't worry. Even though I've been talking about it since Februrary or March, right now is the closest I've gotten to actually expanding the region yet. Be on the lookout this weekend, when I should have the southern area's terrain ready to show here.

    Great pics Comdude,

    Haven't posted in a while! 34.gif

As usual I love your suburbs, and the hometown feeling of your cities! 44.gif

My favorite pic is Pinewood river preserve. Looks like a painting! Really like it!

    Take care!

EDIT: Almost forgot, I like the historical background!

Simworld: Thanks. I can't do it sooner, though, so you'll have to wait.

Darmok: Thanks for the compliments, it's great to hear from you. It's fine if you haven't posted in a while; I don't reply in your CJ or others nearly as much as I should, but come summer I'll definately find the time to do so. 10.gif

SA: Thanks, but those signs are there on purpose, because I didn't have the time or feel like editing those pictures. This is my quote is from the update:

Here is an overview picture of Great Bend, showing most of the town's important places.

I don't expect you to read the stuff I put in the updates, I'm just pointing that out.

    To All:

I'm busy with a lot of other things, but don't worry, the southern expansion should be ready to show within a week (Its terrain, at least).
