    MayorTim: Thanks. 10.gif

To All: Here's the page 20 TOC:

    pg20toc1cb.jpg

I'd just like to thank all who visit and reply to this CJ. It's tough to believe that this CJ has almost 600 replies, and is on page 20! So again, thanks for all of the replies, they are greatly, greatly appreciated. 10.gif

Tonight's I-268, Exits 1-10 update will be a good one. I'll give it a little extra to celebrate page 20 of this CJ. 3.gif

fire: Thanks for the compliments. Inspiring others is one of my main goals with this CJ. Inspiration from other CJs is where many of the ideas for this CJ come from, so I'm always glad to hear that others are inspired by my own CJ.

King: Thanks. #1 CJ, that sure is an honor! There's a lot of CJs out there, so that's the highest honor possible. If you told me this CJ would make page 20 when I started it last summer, I'd be really surprised. I've been looking back at some of my older CJs. My Ocean Cove-Palm Shores CJ was actually the CJ with the most replies for a while there in 2003. And that CJ went on for months, and its 7 pages were the most of any CJ then! Times have changed.....much for the better. I'm glad and honored to be part of the 20 page club, I have a feeling you'll be joining the club not too long from now. 10.gif

To All: The update should still come tonight. It would be a shame if it didn't, that's for sure, considering it was supposed to come yesterday. But it still looks good for tonight.

Hey comdude, I have something to ask you. You're part of the Mapp Squad...could you help me get in? Can't wait for the update, and I've already posted in the Mapp Squad forum about this, I just thought you could help me. Thanks.

DragonAnime: Thanks for the compliments. I got the TOC idea completely from TJD, so the props go to him for coming up with that.

RHF: Sure, no problem. TNS will most likely let you in if you want to make some maps. If you're not big on making maps, we could try to find another position for you. What did you have in mind? I think you should wait for TNS to reply to your post in the thread first though, then I'll be glad to get you a position there. We're just starting out, with only two maps on the MEX so far. But yeah, I'll definately help you get a position on the Mapp Squad, just tell me your ideas in that thread, or here, or in a pm. 10.gif

To All: The update looks like a good bet for tonight. It should come before 11:30 PM EST (Simtrop time).

bobinator: Thanks for the compliments, and for the congratulations for page 20.

    your_adress_here: Thanks for the compliments.

To All: Sorry, but the update has been delayed again. I'm busy and I think I need to take a break from here for a little while. This CJ is getting too tough to update every couple of days. But I'll see what I can do, and try to get the update out tomorrow. 10.gif

    gundamdude: Thanks.

King: Thanks. Favorite CJ, that's a high honor. 10.gif

All: Alright, I'll really push to get the I-268 Exits 1-10 Exit Guide out today. I don't want to delay it again, that would make it going from Monday to Thursday. It should be able to come today.

Mikeaut: Thanks for the compliments. There are more and more members becoming dedicated to this CJ, which I greatly appreciate, but you were the first one. I'm pretty sure the third post in this CJ was made by you, and you've stuck with this CJ the whole way through. Your suggestions have made this CJ much better, and your comments have helped to keep me going. This CJ sure wouldn't be the same without your great input. So, thanks for all of your dedication, great input and compliments which have contributed so much to this CJ ever since I started it around 8 months ago. 10.gif

To All: Although I can't promise anything, the update should come tonight. It's a big one and will have around 11 pictures or so, since it is the I-268 Exits 1-10 Exit Guide update. It will be the fifth installment in the six-part Interstate Highways update series.

    INTERSTATE HIGHWAY 268- EXITS 1-10

I-268 is a very important highway in the Ocean Point region. It is more or less like a beltway, except it goes through some of the region's most densely populated areas instead of going around them. I-68 avoids moist of the sprawl of the region, so it is good for those going through the region, but I-268 goes right through some of the largest towns in the region, and is extremely useful to commuters and other locals.

I-268 begins and ends at I-68. I-268 has 20 exits in all. The part of the highway which will be portrayed here is the northern part, from Cedar Plains (Northern junction with I-68 ) to Bay Cove (A mainly residential town on the island).

Here is a map showing the part of I-268 which will be shown here. Exits 1-10 are also shown here.

    northarea3li.jpg

Here is a detailed comprehensive guide to exits 1-10 of I-268.

Exit 1 is in Cedar Plains, and is for the junction with I-68:

    exit1cp2681st.jpg

Exit 2 is for Route 19, in North Marshland. Route 19 is one of the region's oldest roads. It goes from the region's northern border to the town of West Bay on Marshland Bay, and follows the bay through North Marshland, Marshland, Baytown, East Bayville and Ocean Point before crossing the Pinewood River and ending at Route 99, in Ocean Point. It is also known as Bay Boulevard along its entire stretch. It is a scenic and useful road and is historic as well.

    exit2nm7xy.jpg

Exit 3 is for Ferry Road in Marsh Bay. This is on the other side (The east side) of Marshland Bay, on the island. I-268 crosses the bay just to the northwest (Upper-left) of this picture, via the I-268/Marshland Bay Memorial Bridge. Ferry Road leads southwest to the Marsh Bay Ferry Station, but ends aprubtly northeast of I-268.

    exit3mb2ok.jpg

Exit 4 is for Route 71, in North Beach. This is in the seaport/industrial sector of North Beach, the region's second largest city with a population of over 63,000. Route 71 runs parallel to Marshland Bay on the island side, and goes from the region's northern border south to Ocean Point.

    exit4nb4zl.jpg

Exit 5 is for I-568 in North Beach. I-568 is also called the North Beach Connector. It has six exits of its own which lead to various places in North Beach, before heading for and exiting at the city's and the region's northern border.

    exit5nb0jj.jpg

Exit 6 is for Field Street in North Beach. This area used to be filled with dirty industrial buildings, but is now the home of cleaner, high-tech industries and a few houses. Field Street is a main road in this area.

    exit6nb0jg.jpg

Exit 7 is for North Road in Bay Cove. North Rd. is a secondary road in this part of northern Bay Cove, a mainly residential town with a population of over 23,000.

    exit7bc9qc.jpg

Exit 8 is for Service Road in Bay Cove. Service Rd. is a main road in Bay Cove, which leads to the town's industrial park and landfill. It is included in the picture with Exit 9 (See below).

Exit 9 is for Oakwood Ave. in Bay Cove. Oakwood Ave. is another main road in Bay Cove, and can be taken north to the industrial park and landfill area of Bay Cove.

    exits89bc7rn.jpg

Exit 10 is for Route 82 in Bay Cove. Route 82 is a major road in the region, connecting the region's western border northwest of Marshland to the shore point town of Oceanside. It goes through Marshland, Bay Cove and Oceanside, and is a major road in all three of those towns. It can be taken west to downtown Bay Cove, or further to the Route 82/East Marshland Causeway (Bridge over Marshland Bay), and on to Marshland, then northwest to the region's western border. It can be taken east to downtown Oceanside, and it ends there at Route 28.

    ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________

I hope you liked that update! It was a long one to make, after its two-day delay. Next up is I-268, Exits 11-20, which will conclude the Interstate Highways update series. 10.gif

RHF: Thanks for the compliments. Again, nice to hear you like the update. It was a tough one to make.

your_adress_here: I agree with you on the exits. They do usually look better/more realistic in industrial areas. And thanks for the compliments.

    oroen: Thanks for the compliments.

ThePeoplesPerson: Thanks for the compliments also.

To All: There's probably a less than 50% chance that there will be an update today. The next update will be the I-268, Exits 11-20 update. I'll see what I can do to get it out today, but sorry, it doesn't look very likely right now. It should come by tomorrow though.

The update was nice, I see you are a big fan of highways, I just had one question regarding picture 7, are you just going to leave the rail stopped there or are you going to fix that later ?

DA: Thanks for the compliments. I like highways, although I'm just posting them a lot because their in the Interstate Highways update series. In real life I like backroads a lot more. As for picture 7, thanks for pointing that out. The problem is that I don't know where that railrod could go, because the purpose of the North Beach Railroad is to serve its industry and seaport, so I'll have to decide what to do with that.

To All: The update may or may not come today. I'd say its 50/50 for the update or not. If it comes, it should come before midnight at the very latest, Simtrop time. 10.gif
