Simcity 4 comes with some of the most epic tracks, like

Let me start with my custom music. Since my style is eco-futuristic, my music is somewhere between utopian and cyberpunk, where flowers and cyborgs co-exist. Here are a few of the extra tracks I add in my game:

How does one add new tracks, I would love to do that!

Add a few MP3 songs in the C:\Program Files\Maxis\SimCity 4 Deluxe\Radio\Stations\Mayor\Music folder (it will also works with C:\Program Files\Maxis\SimCity 4 Deluxe\Radio\Stations\Region\Music folder to hear new songs during terraforming), open Simcity, go to the sound options and check the Custom Tunes option on

Pfft! I never use the in-game music player anymore for years. I just run VLC on the background with my entire music library. Not only does it contain SC4 music, but also tunes from SC3K, my own tracks, some general song collections, rock and trance... lots of trance, quite a lot from Armin Van Buuren and the collection CDs from A State Of Trance...
 

For who wants to know how that music sounds, here's one example of one of Armin's best tracks:

I love your music suggestions.  I just obtained all of those (above) and already put them in my game today. Thanks!  I'd love to hear more suggestions, especially where the music fits the style and feel of the existing default SC4 tracks!  I added SC5 (2013) to my game this week. (Already have all previous SimCity version music in it.)

Well, as the Moose said: every man has his own taste... Mine are too wide perhaps, so I listen to everything is audible! Generally though during the game I prefer Acid Jazz music: I think it blends well with the... "environment"!
