Is it just me, or is the amount of parks required in this game unrealistic... I mean i can have about 5 next to each other before i reach $$$! It's unrealistic and makes the city look ugly imo.

Use the land value data overlay, and place each park on the edge of the other's influence.works for me.

I do usually do that but then the city just ends up with clumps of towers every where separated by fountains as if no intention of a layout was put in place.

I feel using the larger, more expensive parks is more effective than placing tons of the smaller less expensive parks within the same wealth rating, when trying to raise land value. I don't find it that difficult to raise land value to high wealth though, not that I actually want too large of a high wealth area as it's hard to please these sims. I usually use smaller medium or high wealth parks plotted evenly to get to medium wealth, and then use the larger high wealth parks in strategic positions to take it to the next level.

Check to see if other factors are affecting land value and making it more difficult to raise it, like abandoned buildings (bulldoze them immediately), power/water/sewerage problems, crime, pollution, sickness and probably traffic too.

The trick is that you have to plan out the streets for high density and parks in order to be able to have well constructed girds. If you do things separately it turns into a nightmare.

One trick is to zone a 4x4 then place a park at the middle of each bit of road, leaving room for 4 high density skyscrappers

The most anoying thing for me is that parks give off a circle of area of effect for land value, while your almost always going to have squared shaped streets and grids.

So you end up with that toy-game where you get to push shapes through corresponding holes while all your holes are squares and all your shapes are balls.

Forget parks. There are enough city services buildings to cover the land value map blue.

The influence ring doesnt tell you the influence radius, but how close it must be to another park to create a $$$ or $$ zone. Adjacent parks dont do much except if you put, like you did, four on the same spot. Which is a waste of money and space.

$$$ Amphitheatres have the same footprint as high density R so you can mix and match/upgrade later.
