  1. Parks

One trick is to zone a 4x4 then place a park at the middle of each bit of road, leaving room for 4 high density skyscrappers
  2. Turn off the University, bulldoze the factories so their tech level resets.
  3. Education and Hazmat fires

Hazmat fires only occur in high density industrial, leave all your factories at medium density until you get a hazmat team.
  4. Parks fulfill the need for "shopping" without costing money so you should always have a few parks otherwise houses spend money faster than they earn it.
  5. Why I never see a detective van?

They dont seem to make an arrest everytime they go out despite what the description says. They seem to sit outside the house where the criminal lives for 3 "patrols" then make an arrest.
  6. Patch 2.0 notes leaked?

I'm more concerned about the fact that they haven't released patch notes for the last two patches they released.
  7. Balancing wealth levels is a $%&^!, specially since the influence zone of parks is circular and the lots are square.
  8. Simcity regional play

The point was to have a super small population city be entirely a recycle garbage town. The profit was going to come from exporting the recyclables. The workers are coming from my arcology. Agreed. In a large city it is almost better to NEVER introduce your citizens to recycling because for a 200K pop city my 5 recycling centers only picks up about 1/3 the amount. The left overs each night just end up making my populace believe my town is "germy". The game forces you to since otherwise it would be leftover garbage which is even worse. They need to double the capacity of recycling trucks, the capacity of garbage a recycling center can hold and how much it processes / hour.
  9. Don't place the community college until after you have quite a lot of factories.
  10. Simcity regional play

Even if you could get recyclables from other cities, what's the point. I had one city with 4 recycling centers and even that couldn't keep up with the garbage output of one city.
  11. Must import, not automatic.
  12. freight Freight - Really Don't Get it!

To expand on Gmarts point, freight demand is essentially infinite in the game, only zone enough to provide enough jobs for your workers and nothing more.
  13. freight Freight - Really Don't Get it!

Freight is simple. Factories produce 9 freight every x minutes and have to ship it out to either a commercial zone or trade depot then the truck comes back with 9 profit. While the truck is delivering the factory stops producing freight, so the shorter the commute between industry and where it's delivering the freight, the more profitable that building will be.
  14. One potential factor is traffic. Workers need to go to work then bring money back to the building within a certain timeframe.
  15. Simcity regional play

    1. Education. It's hard to get students to move, you're better off with a community college or university in your city since it also increases tech level. 2. Police: currently will work for what you want. 3. Healthcare: no, sick sims insist on walking neighbors will only pick up injuries, you're going to want a local clinic. 4. Sewage: easy to have other cities deal with it. 5.Fire, yep you can use regional perfectly even the hazmat team. 6. Garbage: the same, garbage exporting works fine.
