    Berwick-Upon-Tweed Facts
Berwick (BEHR-rik)-Upon-Tweed lies in northern England on the border with Scotland; in fact, it is England's northernmost city.  Situated at the mouth of the River Tweed (hence the name), which forms the traditional border between England and Scotland, Berwick is actually on the Scottish side, but modern boundaries keep it in England.  The town is a small seaport and administrative center for its borough of the same name.  About 15,000 people live in Berwick and its surrounds.  Historically, Berwick was an important town, for obvious reasons, in the endless wars between the Scottish and the English.  Remnants of this past exist today, as Berwick has one of England's finest examples of a medieval defensive wall, as well as a medieval barracks.

Congratulations, mies.  Mystery City 23 is Timisoara, Romania, for all 10 points possible.

    Timisoara Facts
Timisoara is a city in western Romania and is the capital of Timis County.  The city has a rich history dating back to 1019, when it was mentioned in the documents of Byzantine Emperor Basil II.  The city is believed to have been annexed into the Kingdom of Hungary in 1010.  After that, not much happened besides invading Turks and those sorts of things.  Timisoara was the first European city to have electric-lit streets and also had Romania's first tobacco mill.  In 1989, a popular uprising in Timisoara began the revolts that would eventually sweep dictator Nicolae Ceausescu from power.  Today, Timisoara is famous for its cathedral, visible in the background of the MCE picture.  It is home to around 350,000 people.

Mies has selected Difficult as the difficulty level for #24.  I really racked the internet for a difficult one, and I think I've found one.  Here is...

Keep looking.  This city is not located in a country that has an Atlantic seacoast, nor in Luxembourg or Italy.

Considering that it's been a month since the last guess, I suppose you need a clue.  This city is not Linz, but it is located east of the border with Italy's easternmost point.  In other words, it's east of around Villach, Austria.

Try looking for this city south of Vienna and east of Klagenfurt.

Nobody is right yet, but keep looking.  Simwario's guess of Leibnitz was very close.  This city is located in the Austrian state of Steiermark.

Also, please allow me to take this opportunity to plug my other forum games, especially Mystery City:  World 3 , which has not been guessed in since July 30, and Mystery Skyscraper , dead since September 2.
