Mystery City:  World Edition III
a game of mystery picture destinations around the globe

<img width=714 align=baseline border=3>

mystery cities
Introduction
Welcome to Mystery City:  World Edition III, successor to the wildly popular Mystery City, Mystery City:  World, and Mystery City:  World Edition II, all created by The_Dalai_Llama.  In this Mystery City game, cities from across the globe will be presented in a photograph showing the city.  Players will then guess the city's identity.

Mystery City:  World Edition III will not include European cities.  For those wishing to focus on Europe, there is a Mystery City:  European Edition.  This edition of the Mystery City game will also not include cities from the United States.

Last Mystery City:  World Edition
Mies dominated, winning a whopping 52 points.  Simwario came in second with 16 points, followed by hello_SC4 with 13.  Yours truly scored no points, so obviously I am qualified to run MC World 3.

Rules
The rules of Mystery City:  World Edition are as follows:

1.  Only 2 guesses per post.  If more than 2 guesses are made the first two will only be considered.
2.  You may guess again any time I post.
3.  Guessing is allowed immediately after a clue or new city is given.
4.  Clues will be given when I feel they are necessary.
5.  I don't take city requests.
6.  My say is final in disputes; PM me if there's a problem (I will make mistakes occassionally).
7.  Management is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged articles.
8.  Except as noted above, a 12-hour post rule is in effect.
9.  Guesses may consist of any combination of the following:  City, country, or continent.  Continents will not score as points but will count as a clue.
10.  Given the nature of the game, there may occassionally be repeats of cities previously done in MC World games.  If anyone possesses a list of cities previously done, please PM Yellowlab for my email address.
11.  Have fun!

The -NEW- point scale in MC World 3 is as follows:

Judging from the Road markings, i'll guess USA, and the river makes me take a wild guess at St. Louis.

I've never left Europe, so this is just a wild guess...

It doesn't look big enough to be Tokyo, so maybe Hiroshima or Kobe?

Kobe is next to a mountain range, and I don't see one so I won't even go there. I say Kyoto or Sendai

Congratulations, simwario.  Mystery City #1 is Niigata, Japan.

    Niigata Facts
Niigata is a city in central Honshu in Japan and lies on the Sea of Japan.  Niigata is the capital of Niigata Prefecture both economically and politically.  The city is split by the Shinanogawa River, with the older town to the north and the newer to the south.  A Niigata landmark is the Rainbow Tower, which you can see in the image faintly in the background.  From this vantage-point the entire city can be seen.  About 600,000 people live in and around Niigata.

    Scoring
    simwario +8

    Moving on...

Also, new colors!  The gray replaces the orange to tie all YellowGames together with a common color and a variation color, in this case blue.

Congratulations, erka.  Mystery City #2 is Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia.

    Santa Cruz Facts
Santa Cruz de la Sierra is a city in central-southeastern Bolivia.  The city lies on the Piray River and is the capital of the Bolivian department of Santa Cruz.  Santa Cruz is a major agricultural processing center as well as a regional center of culture, medicine, and communications.  The city has a population of around 700,000.  Santa Cruz was founded in the 16th century by Jesuits; the name translates roughly to Saint of the Cross.

    Scoring
    erka +8

    Now we're off to...

Note...sorry for the lack of updates.  A major case of RLS (brought on by work) has cut deep into my Simtropolis time.  However, despair not!  I will do my best to update regularly and will not end it.
