Tips on College and University Placement

Anyone got tips on community college and university placement? I read that it will increase tech level of industrial zones, but will also increase medium wealth residential zones. If I place it in the industrial park, will it be able to function properly?

I noticed when I added a community college to my industrial area it improved the happiness and tech level of the surrounding industry (I could see the happy faces pop up in all the buildings). I'd suggest the college right in the middle of the industry.

 

Not sure if the university improves anything around it, but i would bet it raises the land value.

Yes, always have them close to your industrial area and also don't forget that sims might travel from other cities to attend your college/uni, mostly in cars, so they will add more stress to the existing traffic. So if it's possible, build college/uni close to the region connection.

However, I do notice college students love to use both the rail and ferry modes of transportation, so if you can get some of them close to your University, or build your University near them, it should help a lot! At the very least have a regional bus terminal and a bus stop outside the University.

This ain't really happening at the moment, besides all your own internal student traffic will be going directly to this part as well, which might create just another unwanted addition of traffic to an already stuffed up traffic jam near the highway.

Before you place it, you will see white dots bordering the roads of industry that will benefit from placing college/uni in a certain location.

only place by high tech industry tho right? not like manufacturing or dirty/etc right? also how can u see happy faces? what do u press to see their emotions??
