So for those of us that are friendless, do you plan on starting 1 city and building it up or multiple cities at once? I didn't get into the betas and they didn't have alot of region play in them anyways, so there may be some major issues with my plan, but I am planning on doing several cities at once.  After watching the coal town on Letsallbemayor yesterday I definantly want to make a mining town, but there's so many big buildings needed for it there's not much area for residential, so was planning on making 1 town almost all residential just to provide sims to the other cities.

Definantly not saying my way is the best or will even work, just wondering what other people playing solo are gonna try first?

From what I understood it, you can "load" cities in a way that allow you to switch quickly, but you will always run each city separated from the others, so 1 person can never simulate more than one city at a time, so you would have to say run 1 city for 15 min then switch to the other and so on.

I hope to start in a regional play with others, I'll be happy as to try anything, in any kind of order :-P

The game pretty much demands multiple cities with the unlocks system. Otherwise if you didnt pick wisely with your city hall upgrades, you get stuck with some bad things like sewer outflow pipes instead of water treatment plants..etc etc..

I believe there are 16 save slots for regions...I may be wrong though. So that means you can run 16 regions at a time. It might be 10. I can't remember.

10 region slots per server, max amount of cities in one of their regions is 16 cities. Don't confuse region with cities please :-P

I think its you can only pick one per upgrade of city hall..so yea you could in theory build them all over time...but not right away..

You can bulldoze too.  It's not hard to fix a mistake, you arn't locked into anything.

The invention of beer and the wheel were the foundation of modern civilization & together were the catalyst that split humanity into two distinct subgroups: liberals & conservatives. Some men spent their days tracking & killing animals to B-B-Q at night while they were drinking beer. These men were called "conservatives". Other men who were weaker & less skilled at hunting learned to live off the conservatives by showing up for the nightly B-B-Q's & doing the sewing, fetching & hair dressing. They were called "progressives".

I wonder if I bulldoze a city hall department if the buildings unlocked by that department are also destroyed... otherwise, it seems kind of exploity if I build a department of utilities, plop down a water pump and water cleaning facility, then bulldoze the department of utilities only to place something else, and plop those unlocked buildings, etc.

And by the way, it takes 500,000 population in one city to get all the unlocks for a single city hall.
