Haha, there it is! This is one of my favorite buildings since it is where we once stayed while in Atlanta on a vacation. It bears a striking resemblance to the GM Motors Renaissance building lol.

Yeah, if you had mistaken it for the EIffel Tower, that would probably have been a bad sign. :P

WHOA, you really finish these things fast. The modelling and texturing is nothing short of pure spectacular :thumb: In fact, my cylindrical building looks kind of lame now  I see you've even done the white window shutters in the black windows near the top.

As for the glass color, I kind of like it as it is. It really depends on the sky color. On a cloudy day, the building looks silver, but on a clear sky day, the building appears a blue color.

In my opinion, it's easier for players to Photoshop the building to look silver than it is for them to Photoshop it blue. Go for whichever one feels right for you. I can't wait to see more progress :)

What is the purpose of the small cylinders on the outside of the tower itself? If those are elevators, shouldn't they be inside the tower like in the Seattle Westin?

Wow, looks stunning! I really like the glass how it is, at least I remember that's how it looked the last time i went to Atlanta.

Great Work! :thumb:

After the Westin Plaza, I've foreseen two other skyscrapers, the Comcast Center and Liberty Place from Philadelphia :D

Great choices!  I'm really looking forward to those two, especially Comcast Center.  Liberty Place is no doubt going to be awesome but I'm looking forward to see how Comcast is going to come out.

Thanks for continuing to provide us with quality creations.

If someone is able to allow oneself to take about his further projext before his current one is finished, then it's you, reddon or Jason :D

The webbed glass on the base is just beautiful!!

When I saw the tower though my first reaction was the glass looked a bit busy, but I'm not familiar with the actual building.

Looking great so far :O

Same opinion in this case. The glass reflection often looks kind of smooth. I guess reducing the strength and lower the opacity of your bump maps would help. And maybe also changing the ground map!

But everything else is great. Like the basement :)

are elevators
were made on the outside of the building to be paronamicos and enjoy the view
do not get me wrong there are also elevators inside the building

Well, the glass simply reflects - glossy glass plus overcast sky = silvery appearance. Glossy glass plus blue sky = blue appearance. However, in SimCity the building will not be reflecting the sky, no matter the weather. In SimCity it will be reflecting the ground, so a Bird's Eye view from Bing Maps is probably better suited to get an impression from a SimCity-like perspective. If anything, the photos you linked tell us that the glass doesn't seem to have a particular tint to it because it reflects the colours pretty faithfully. Makes them appear a bit darker, but it doesn't seem to shift the colour hue at all.

Thanks guys for your support. But today, I've encountered an strange bug with the lot of the Chase Tower, I don't know what's happen, the building seems floating over the ground :/ , in 3dsmax, the building is correctly on the ground and the LOD boxes too. I've re-exported the BAT and the same problem appeared (  :rage:  :rage: x10 ).

Someone know how I can resolved this bug?

    Thanks for yours help :)

I've already encountered this problem but I don't remember how it was resolved

Did you try to completely remove the camera and light rig? (by deleting the Xref Scene)! Then create a new one.

If you do a preview with a visible Plane, it's the same things?

You have this problem at all zoom levels?

Maybe it's a mishandling of the LOD in GMAX, try to re-export the LOD.

PS: je crois qu'Antoine a trouvé... :uhm:

@Girafe: Non, aucune boite de LOD n'est en dessous de 0. C'est la première chose que j'ai vérifiée.

@Delecto: Preview under 3dsmax is normal. I've already re-export the LOD in GMAX and, that change nothing, but maybe I need to delete the old ".3DS" file? ...

And yep the problem appeared at all zoom levels.

You can export this building 1000 times and you will still have this issue, your LOD vertices are not in the right place, you can manually move them in place with the reader, which will take time and sometimes can have a problem with some of the model not showing on the LOD which I can't figure out way, or you can make a new LOD with a different height. :D

Yeah, I hope we will found the solution of this problem too :/ .

In waiting, I've worked on the Westin Hotel, and the day version will be ready soon :) , I've add an advertise for the Baseball team of the city: The Atlanta "Braves" ;) .

The textures was be adjusted, and the windows are better in my opinion. :)

Great model.  It looks a lot like the central tower of the GM building in Detroit that is being worked on by Ace.  I wonder if they were designed by the same architect.
