The City of Adelaide

The South Eastern Freeway is actually a lot younger than was mentioned. The freeway was constructed in the 1970s from just past Eagle on the Hill up to just past Murray Bridge, where cyber lives. In the late 1990s the freeway was upgraded between Crafers and Glen Osmond, with the construction of the Heysen Tunnels (shown in the pictures above) and a new section of freeway from where it used to begin and the intersection of Glen Osmond, Mt. Barker, Cross and Portrush Roads. Before this went on, the highway between South Eastern Freeway and Glen Osmond was notorius for accidents, especially at a very well known bend that was once called Devil's Elbow.

Actually the old freeway went straight through the town centre of Murray Bridge. Now the freeway runs alongside my town and across the new Swanport Bridge.

Adelaide Railway Station and SKYCITY Casino Adelaide

Constructed in 1928 this heritage listed building is one of the most beautiful buildings in Adelaide. 

The building took two and a half years to build and attracted major controversy. Costs inflated three times above estimates, the project was deemed an extravaganza and was even blamed for South Australia's near-bankruptcy in the face of the Great Depression. However, the project did provide employment for many workers in those trying times.

The centrepiece of the building is the grand Marble Hall

Hello all. I have bad news and some good news for the fans of this city journal. The bad news, which some people all ready know is that during a complete computer system reinstall I lost all of the Adelaide Region. For some reason my backups were not complete which led me to believe I had backed them up but only afterwards I realised something had gone wrong and I had lost all of the cities.

The good news is that region is being rebuilt, and trust me so far things are looking even better. The region is larger as it now includes more northern suburbs such as Port Adelaide and Elizabeth, and the city is now more planned allowing for greater developments to occur. Though I can not show you just yet any screenshots of the new region I will tell you that so far the region is at a population of 278,000. With 8 out of 37 cities have been started. More updates soon.

Well good news and bad news there I guess cyber. Glad to hear that you are remaking it and not just starting a new region altogether.

Wow stunning work!  Those suburbs do look like they're splendid to live in.  Heh I'm sorry that you lost your original city, but I admire your effort in recreating everything again!  I guess the old one will still live on a little in this CJ...and all the best for your new endeavour!
