I've tried just about everything to get the game installed on my win7 x64. It refuses to start the 'install' file. Even in compatible mode or run as administrator. HELP!

I installed it just fine on Windows 7 64. Where'd you get your copy of the game?

Oh yeah and this belongs in the "bugs and technical issues" section of the forum. Be a little more careful when choosing where to post next time please.

No problems whatsoever on Win7 x64 here, either. No Admin mode required, no compatibility mode, no nothing. Straight out-of-box install.

I guess we'll need some more info in order to be able to help you. What's that "Install" file you mention, and where did you get it?

There may simply be an alignment problem on your media drive. If the drive has been heavily used, it might need to be replaced. The previous poster has a good idea. Copy the files onto two separate folders, and treat them accordingly. If you are coming off disk, you will still need disk 2 in the drive to play. If this doesn't work, try replacing the drive.

What error is Windows giving you when you attempt to start the program? Exactly what is the name of the "file" you are trying to start (just want to make sure that it is an exe file?

I did too, but it failed, however, mine was from the SC box.

The SC box is uncompatible with 7.

Some of the box versions were erroneous and had to be returned for a replacement. There was at least one bad batch.

This game is not abandonware. It can only be properly installed from a copy obtained from a vendor who has a license to sell it.
