Darnation! I missed that darn stream. That's it! If there is any SimCity related videos on E3, I will drop EVERYTHING tomorrow, my father be darned.

For to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, and to another the word of knowledge according to the same Spirit; to another faith by the same Spirit, and to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit... But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually..." 1 Corinthians 4-11

I'm happy with the progress EA (maxis) is making towards this game. Im not overwhelmingly excited about it being on origin and all but I will be spending most of the time in game, not in the client :P

no worry's :)

Damn I missed it... What happened, did they just play the trailer?

What is this SimCity Social thing, is this the real name for the new Simcity? If it is how is it available on Facebook? I thought the new SC was going to be a PC program?

Also will there be any further Simcity stuff at E3?

Looks like a miniature real world, I love it :D It's too early for hyper realistic graphics, but then again, we don't want it to be too cartoonish. I think the way they are doing it is the best they could do :)

In the video, I see procedurally generated houses. Look at the residential area, and you'll see house lots conform to the road seamlessly.

It looks like they finally ditched the stop-motion effect... I hope it is what it seems.

Yes the videos look promising. It is good to see that multiplayer is handled well, and the simulation looks relatively realistic and smooth compared with CXL. I am cautiously optimistic.

However the issue of bandwidth is still a major concern to me. I use Telstra, and that's pretty expensive.

I like what I'm seeing so far, I'm really not bothered about the cartoony graphics as long as the gameplay is awesome.

No, those aren't trams, they're highway dividers. You can see it more clearly in the trailer.

Seconded and karma point given ;)

Gameplay comes first. I remember back in the days of SNES and Sega Genesis people were always comparing graphics when it was gameplay that really matters.

You can have a game that looks fantastic yet the gameplay is terrible, then again you can also have a bad graphics game with awesome gameplay, and that one will be more memorable because it was simply more fun to play.

The ace in the hole is a game with great graphics and great gameplay. That's hard to achieve, but certainly possible.

    LOL Funny, but true.

See, that's the difference between Maxis and EA. Although all companies are in it for the money, some companies like Maxis make money because people are willing to buy their high-quality products (games i.e.: SimCity) and other companies like EA make money because of hype and the fact that the public believes "because it's from a big corporation, it must be better."

Anyway... The graphics and gameplay look absolutely awesome. I'm really looking forward to watching the whole press conference (I recorded it on TV) and watching the live chat with Kip tomorrow. The more information Maxis/EA gives out, the more excited I get. :D

They are trams/trolleys, highway dividers look completely different. You can see stations in this shot and the actual tram in another,

Yeah, those are definitely tram lines. Nice to see some trains too, although the people emerging from the train station reminds me of the 'Chinese Development Aid' edict from Tropico Modern Times

    3 things:

    1. The picture of the curvy road through a residential area with all the houses perfectly aligned with it is awesome. This is something that was seriously lacking in SC4 and it seems to be implemented perfectly into this game.

    2. Has there been a picture or video released yet of a highway interchange?

    3. Is there a video that shows the entire Simcity/Simcity Social presentation? I missed it because I was at school.

EA are putting in flexible transport from the beginning?

There has to be a catch.

Here's the high quality video (posted in this thread, that used some random video player I can't get to work) on youtube:

(and here is a video about SimCity Social which is thankfully completely separate to SC 2013)

It's not Sim City 5, it's Sim City Social. I knew it! Looks like a Facebook game:

    http://e3.gamespot.c...ncement-trailer

SC 2013 and SC Social are two completely different games.

I love how the Simcity Social trailer directly targets Cityville, right from the beginning.

    "More City, less Ville"

And as much as I dislike Facebook games, Simcity Social does seem like it's going to be a good game.
