How do I design my own Textures?

I'd like to be able to design my own ground textures (roads, parks, etc). How would I go about doing this? Do I use GMAX or Lot Editor? Thanks for any help! Hope this is the right thread for this topic.

I don't beleive you can use either of those to make textures. The Lot Editor just places them. The BAT is generally used for making props, buildings, etc. As far as changing road textures I would just suggest downloading a texture mod from the STEX. I would also suggest getting the NAM if you haven't already.

You can make them using SC4 tool this is the download link (at bottom of page):-

In order to avoid conflicts you are best off requesting a range of IID's from here:- (You need to register first)

You can use any standard photo program to make the texture. I personally do make them in the Bat. I view the top view and take a screen shot, paste it into paint , crop out the part I want re-size it to 128 pixels by 128 and voila you have your texture to use in the SC4 tool.

you make textures by photoshop (costly) or just have fun in ms paint then just upload it to your bat in gmax... if you mean by using for a bat. for a lot.... idk i think you use the sc4tool to upload to lot editor . have fun lol
