Awesome work on that transport map!!

Love the look and feel of the suburbs and all those winding roads.

Sorry for being away and missing some updates.

In reply to your previous response, I'm sure that with the quality of your pictures, some people wouldn't even notice you didn't have rushhour :P You have a lot of custom content and your skills at playing and making other things like maps is some of the best I've seen.

Can't wait to see your next update.

looks like another great update to me viva! :D

but you maybe should give the waterlines an update in leveling them? maybe it is just me but i always hate it when those edges aren't leveled properly to match everything up, i know i got more of a "close to realism" playstyle  :P

@Fox: Thanks! I try to keep my roads as windy and curvy as the game allows me to. I’ve been away quite some time too, I understand :)

Awh, that’s really sweet! The problem is is that I have only few time to spend on SC4. Being involved in a Simcity Alliance would be impossible right now. The next months will be less busy !

Awesome work.  I often forget that you don't have Rush Hour, which is a testament to you great city building skills.

    @Simcoug: Thaaaaanks <3

@Thunderman: Dankjewel! I’m not really sure I follow you on the waterlines, as for the little habour in the village, that was meant to look some sort of ‘naturalish’.

Wow - continues to look awesome. The colours are really vivid this update - something I'm still trying to get right in my updates. Continue with the awesomeness!

@Sim_link: Thanks, I experimented in GIMP, as did I in this update, albeit a little less extreme.

You know from the 'show us your transport map' thread that I am a fan of your S-tog map. I'm also a fan of your update showing us the small town, very charming.

@Benedict: From the same threas you know I am a huge fan of your hexagonal map of the S-Tog! Do you mind if I show it some time here? –With the proper acknowledgement of course :)

Congrats on your nominations! Well deserved, I might add.

    @Simgoug ²: Thank you :D

Agreed! And I look forward to seeing new stuff!

@Schulmanator: Merci beaucoup, new stuff is on its way!

    Congrats on your nominations!

    @Forthwall: Thanks!

Thanks for all of your dear comments!

Some Scottish-Gaelic music on the background :D

In this update we visit the small village of Bærby. Inhabitants: barely 3.000. Situation: at the end of a mountain lake, right where the river Bær begins. It is crossed by a national road, T19 which runs East-West trough the province of Tissenfjell. Almost parallel to the road runs the Tissenjernban, one of the highest railways in Heimen. A warm welcome to Bærby!

    51831996.jpg

A few kilometers down the lake shore is the hamlet of Helsøy, part of Bærby Kommune.

    79611809.jpg

The village center is small and situated around Jernbansplas, Railway Square.

    19539064.jpg

While the center is located on the lake shore the village it self is located up the hills.

    34027260.jpg

Its major tourist attraction, and reason of existence is the Festning, the old castle located on a rock overlooking the lake.

A very nice small town. I like it. :)

@Schulmanator: Building small towns is the thing I like to do most in Simcity you can expect more of these coming!

I don't think I've ever seen anyone create a square with a wavy design like that - very interesting.

@Benedict: I believe it was some portugese texture set, hidden very, very deep in the STEX.

    44418039.jpg

In this update a short view of the small village of Hensbår, situated at the place where the Witz flows into the river Låpe. Though it has only 4,000-something inhabitants it is a mjor regional center for transport and commerce.

    hensbr.jpg

Because of the steep hills inbetween the valleys the village’s neighbourhoods are defined by the valleys they’re in.

    Thanks for reading!

    One more thing…

We get a new king in The Netherlands tommorow!

    Hurray for King Willem-Alexander!

Nice. Will have to go back through and have a look at everything but from this page I can tell I'll love it.

I love them terraced houses the most, it just looks really cool winding up the hill amongst all the houses and retaining walls.

    Cheers

You got some serious skills when it comes to building on hills.  I like how you build on it but in a fashion that stays true to the natural slopes of the hill, good job.

I don't like that last update, sorry. I think it's because the ways in the mountains are too straight.

@Fox: That would make for a nice update! As a die-hard scandinavia fan I like to come up with city names that have the most æ's, ø's and å's as possible :P

"I don't like that last update, sorry. I think it's because the ways in the mountains are too straight."

@Ultimare727: Mountains happen to be straight per definition, I don't see why these mountains would be too straight or anything, thanks for commenting though!

    Heimen

    It's been a while...

Quoting myself from the last update, again it has been a while haha!

The last half year I enjoyed myself a lot but I didn't play Simcity nearly at all.

Nevertheless I am glad to see that many of my favourite cityjournalers are still around here and actively updateing their city journals

    Svensund.jpg

Today I will take you to the city of Svensund. It has approximately 80,000 inhabitants and is actually one of the highest populated cities I have built in years.

Here in the high north winter days are short and dark. The sun will rise in the late morning and will be down before it's fika time.

It is the time of cozy lit streets, hot chocolate and christmas
