Sorry, I can not understand what you are saying. What is your language? Can you post again in your own language, and hopefully someone may be able to translate it.

The range 0xfc782DA0 - 0xFC783188 is already allocated to the SimMars team.

I think what Tristan wanted to say is that SC4Tool presented him said range as default - and he wanted to ask for a personal ID range. 2.gif

German explanation how to add the ID range to SC4Tool:

Wenn Du Deinen ID-Bereich hast, erstelle eine Textdatei namens "range.txt" im "System"-Unterordner von SC4Tool, und schreibe dort die Start- und End-ID 'rein, getrennt durch ein Komma (eine Zeile, ohne Leerzeichen).

    Hello, everybody.

May I have a texture ID range, please ? I am currently discovering texture editing and I am getting bored with interferences with textures coming from STEX.

    Thanks

The texture IID range is just for (ground) textures that you may want to create yourself.

For mods, it depends on what you are modding. If you want to replace a standard Maxis texture (or anybody else's come to that) you will have to use the same IID as the one you want to replace. This works for standard textures or transport textures. If you do create any alternative texture, you will have to put it in a folder that is alphabetically after the one where the original texture is, so that the game loads it last, and 'overwrites' the original one.

I feel the need to create textures related to my geographic location, and though for my use, it would be best to obtain a proper range. When you have time I would appreciate a personal range, thank you....Shoreman

    Hey Geoffhaw!

this is good work you are doing but the range I received doesn't seem to work (0xF3F80000 TO 0xF3FFFFFF)

All the textures created on that range appears on Lot Editor but not working in the game. I recreated the same textures on the default range and it works fine!

    Cheers!

It would help if you provided us some more detail, in particular screen shots of what the textures are like in the LE and how they appear in the game and the actual iids that you used for them. "Not working" covers a very broad range of problems and doesn't really help as a problem description.

Make sure you are not using the digits 0-3 in the 5 place, as this makes a texture wealth dependent and it will only show on a lot of the same wealth. If you don't want your textures to be wealth dependent then stick to 4-f in the fifth digit.

    ie the following are all ok: F3F84000, F3F85000, F3F86000, F3F87000, F3F88000, F3F849000, F3F8a000, F3F8b000, F3F8c000, F3F8d000, F3F8e000, F3F8f000

the following will be wealth dependent (and you shouldn't use them unless you really want them to be wealth dependent): F3F80000, F3F81000, F3F82000, F3F83000

Never combine wealth dependent and non-wealth dependent in the same family range. ie if you use F3F80000, F3F81000, F3F82000, F3F83000 for wealth dependent then do not try to use F3F84000, F3F85000, F3F86000, F3F87000, F3F88000, F3F849000, F3F8a000, F3F8b000, F3F8c000, F3F8d000, F3F8e000, F3F8f. Start a new family series at F3F94000 for the next set of non-wealth dependent textures.

BTW this is all explained thoroughly in the first post in this thread: https://www.simtropolis.com/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=109&threadid=50806&STARTPAGE=1

And please don't use the default range, as it will cause your textures to clash with anyone else who decided to use the default range (not that anyone should have but this is the reason why you don't). Otherwise your textures will stop working as soon as they get together with someone else's textures that also use the default range, or cause another person's textures to stop working (and that's not a very nice thing to do). This is why we have the texture range assignments in the first place, as textures will not work at all unless the whole community works together on this.

First of all apologies for not being around for a while...

    Secondly, @ psander5, your range is 0xF4300000 to 0xF437FFFF

Thirdly, thanks Sam for your reply to slann! Have you still got a problem with your range?

Will a unique texture range solve my problem of BATs getting scrambled? How do I use it?

And may I have one, please?

    Whoops I did it again...

After checking nearly daily throughout August and early September with nothing happening, I sorta got lazy. Sorry guys.

timcravey, the Texture Index is for Base and Overlay textures. They are nothing to do with BATs, which just 'sit' on them. However, if you want a range for Base and Overlay textures, this is yours... 0xF4480000 to 0xF44FFFFF

    For un1, yours is 0xF4500000 to 0xF457FFFF
