This is a test post, for reasons that are too trivial to explain...

Ah well, since you ask, the forum index says that the last post was by Silur on 2/9/07, but I can't see it. Maybe this post will make it visible.

Edit: Yep that seemed to work, I can see it now.

    Hello Geoffhaw,

I would be interested in a range of base textures to avoid conflicts while making alterations.

Something in the range of C7200000 to C72fffff would be prefered

    Thank you

    Chris

    Hi,

Want my first go in trying to make things Modding and wanted the allocation of IID-Bereichs. I would like to apologize for my poor English, but English is my Private even worse, this is a translation Googel. Thank you in advance ever.

    Greeting DJPTiger

@ CLR-ST that range is free, so 0xC7200000 to 0xC72FFFFF is yours

@ DJPTiger your range is 0xF3980000 to 0xF39FFFFF

DJPTiger, the range you have been allocated contains 524,287 IIDs. Whilst not all of these can be used, this should be enough with a little planning. Even I have not used that many in all the BSC Texture Packs!

There are straight times 8 Main-IID which I can use as the other IID of SimCity not appear. And Need 14 Main-IID least. The last 4 digits may or may not be amended.

I do not think that you understand how these IIDs work.

First of all, unless you want to make a wealth level (of the lot) texture, you should not use a 0, 1, 2 or 3 as the 5th digit (reading from the left) of the IID.

From the range you have been allocated, there are 8 major sub-ranges you can use.

    F398????

    F399????

    F39A????

    F39B????

    F39C????

    F39D????

    F39E????

    F39F????

Then under these, ignoring the wealth 5th digits of 0, 1, 2 and 3 there are 12 further sub-sub-ranges

    F3984???

    F3985???

    F3986???

    F3987???

    F3988???

    F3989???

    F398A???

    F398B???

    F398C???

    F398D???

    F398E???

    F398F???

Then under these there are 16 sub-sub-sub-ranges

    F39840??

    F39841??

    F39842??

    F39843??

    F39844??

    F39845??

    F39846??

    F39847??

    F39848??

    F39849??

    F3984A??

    F3984B??

    F3984C??

    F3984D??

    F3984E??

    F3984F??

This makes 8x12x16 = 1,536 IIDs. Does solve your problem?

I was taught the last 4 posts have special features:

1234 X678 is look at prosperity

12345 X78 is look at expiry

123456 X8 the wuste he is not.

1234567 X stands for the zoom level.

Therefore, I assume that I am the last 4 do not change. What nachwei

    @ SmartRoss1 your range is F3A80000 to F3AFFFFF

With regard to their use, I can only recommend reading the first few posts of this thread, and the posts I wrote to DJPTiger above. Good luck! It isn't too bad really!

Righteo, I think it's time for me to join the crowd requesting texture IID ranges 4.gif

Looking at the recent allocations, and following the pattern, would I be right in thinking F3C8* is the next in line?

And how do I configure SC4tool to use 'my' range when allocated?

EDIT: Courtesy of SC4D, that info is apparently obtained by PM'ing geoffhaw (to prevent any Tom, Dick or Harry creating textures with IIDs that have already been allocated, thus causing other people's lots to look mangled).

@ mittfh your range is 0xF3C00000 to 0xF3C7FFFF

The next range to be allocated is not always the one that is obvious! This is because there is also a similar thread at SC4Devotion.com.

With regard to setting up your own personal range in SC4Tool, there's no secret really.

1 - Create a txt file. In your case, it needs to be the following:

    0xf3c00000,0xf3c7ffff

2 - Save it as Range.txt and put it into the System folder of SC4Tools

That's all there is to it!
