The upper left window needs to be a little more wider and a little more to the right...But you don't have to change it because not everything has to be perfect too look good...

After being very inactive in Batting the last time I decided to start a new building by poly modelling it. I just have one question which is my biggest problem. Although the last building looks really odd, it seems as if I had the wrong measures because I choose my buildings by walking through New York City in Google Street View. How do I find out the right measures for my building. Because I don't wanna do any mistakes.

I assume you would like to BAT the saranac building. That's what i've found by googling it:

    Saranac%20Building_0.jpg

    worth95.01b.photo.jpg

Now, if my assumptions are correct, i'd really suggest you to check the proportions of the building again, especially the ones of the windows..

De Ja Vu: Thanks. And its name is Saranac Apartments. Sorry for the mistake.

Francis90b: You are right. That's the building i wanna bat. And yes, the proportions are wrong. It was/ is my first poly modelled building and I thought of making a box and then modelling the shape of the building.

So. Sorry that it took so long. I had a problem with the back of the building. When I was modelling the front side of the apartments it seemed as if I accidentally deleted Vertexes on the back. So there was a big hole. I started batting the whole building again but also that time there was any mistake could't have been fixed.

So this is the third attempt and this is what I have so far:

Maybe you can appreciate it better now.

This is just a "test" preview, I wanna make the ohter windows before I start with raising the building.

The BAT has shadows on the wrong directions (they're leaning to the left, they should lean to the right).Maybe you might try to reset your cameras, or to save your BAT in a new scene.

I don't know really much about that, maybe someone else might help you better about why and what to do.

Other than that, proportions...i will edit this later.

    EDIT:I think proportions look fine.

Looks great, if you are redering in HD is a great idea to render in SD, HD is for small things like, road signs, telephone pole and maybe trees, and a highly detailed building like something Amthaak did, but if you are going to upload a HD version it would be a good idea to upload a SD version, as we all know everyone here does not have a gaming computer to handle heavey loads.

To add grime on my bricks I use the cloud tool and burn tool that in photoshop, I'm not so sure what stuff is on Gimp. I am looking forward to seeing the bricks the same color as the real building and I am ready to see teh completetion of the top of the building. :D

Nice, I am liking the street level look on this building. It really adds life and character to the cityscape.
