I'm getting a little frustrated that the whole online bit in the single player is wonky as hell. BAWSAQ is more down than up and I suspect its a bug, not a server or connection issue and the camera on the phone also doesnt work more often than not.

like a bazillion of awesome photo opportunities lost due to the online requirement for it.

I can live with bawsaq being online only, but snapmatic really should work offline aswell.

I don't really understand how the BAWSAQ works. I mean, I know its online and its supposed to interact with other players. But some of Lesters missions have investment opportunities that are found on the BAWSAQ. So if I finish that mission, stock prices on there should go up. But do they only go up for me? I would assume so or otherwise the price would be really weird with countless players doing that mission.

bawsaq is a "saq" of gold.

 

just take the pis-scheme. down to 0, now up to beyond 70 (last time I checked it was 72). when you invested at, say, 12, you have a return rate of 600%. with the approx 35 - 40 million you'd regularily have after beating the story and taking option c in the end... plus the assassination missions and the resulting monetary boost...

yeah it's easy to mass the billions. timeconsuming, but easy.

and tbh, there's just too little to spend it on.

 

oh and there's also a neat trick to buy property for free so you can fatten your wallet even easier

Haha that's exactly what I did. After I beat the game, I invested all my money in PIS at $12.50. Sold at $68, and had enough cash to buy the golf course ($150 million).

 

Also, how does one join a gang on GTA Online? I don't see any options in-game.

Its called a crew and you have to do it through online, some are invite only.

Once i beat the game for the second time, i invested alot of money into FlyUS, then i went to the airport and destroyed a bunch of planes belonging to airemu, this caused FlyUs's stock to go up. But i spend most of my time on GTA Online.

I noticed a few songs and was amazed cause I never knew they existed.

not sure what you're trying to tell us here...

 

"songs that used beats from tracks on the GTA radio stations".. might be linked to the fact that all songs in gta are real songs from real artists, maybe a few gta-exclusives but most are "normal" songs like those in the charts, on albums and stuff. not all artists are well known or worldwide stars, but the selection of songs is awesome, well thought through and gives a blast of authenticity (is that a word?) to the setting of the game.

There are a few songs that I like, but I felt the selection of songs on the radio wasn't that good. I would have liked to see an actual metal station (that punk/rock station is terrible imo) and some electronic music that isn't all groove. Some dubstep or something would have been nice.

oh there's quite a lot you can do while being trolled... IF you're a fan of doing nothing

 

Frankly, this game is so much of a downer. never expected it to say this but... yes, it is.

it's basically gta online with an offline mode called gta v.

and even if you consider that R* put the emphasis on the online mode, it's still boring.

 

I love the setting, it's awesome. but the story doesn't really catch me, thus placing the replay value very low unless you wanna do things different.

 

and the highly praised money-thing... well, it really comes down to "mine is bigger than yours" cuz there aint much to do with it except bragging.

 

it really couldn't live up to the hype, sadly. but hey, it has like 700 boring-as-hell repetitive online "missions", hooray

just create a small town and a heapload of farmfields around... plus a church and a cemetery and set your date to christmas to trigger the snow. done.

 

oh i iz soooo in love with the matte+pearlescent glitch:

 

and it's not even complicated to do:

1) buy matte paintjob you want as a base color

2) go to metallics and select (not buy) anyone

3) hit circle (or b on eggbock) and navigate to any section

4) buy any mod

5) go back to respray and find pearlescent available

 

dark base colors give a cool iridescent look to it but it works with all base colors of course

 

EDIT: and fyi: I forgot to mention you don't necessarily need to use matte, it works with all color types.

after merely half a year already 35million copies sold on just two of 3 platforms, one of the biggest gaming entertainment franchises in history, holding several records throughout the entertainment world such as best first 24hrs of sales and the single most anticipated game in the last years...

too much focus on multiplayer, single player campaign too short, too little interesting stuff to do, couldn't live up to the hype.

"all about the money" comes pretty short as it is way too easy to mass billions in singleplayer for nothing to spend it on and way too hard in multiplayer for everything to spend it on.

 

it's one of these must-have titles tho, because of the incredibly huge scale of the franchise... so yeah you'd probably have to buy it, but expect a game that struggles to live up to the hype created.

 

fyi: publisher take2, compared to fiscal Q3/13, in fiscal Q3/14 (yes this is correct, gaming industrie's fiscal 2014 is almost over) quadrupled it's net revenue almost only because of gta5)

truth be told, online was more fun with the hacked money still in place because I could finally afford stuff and not live of welfare like I do now and did before.

 

but real fun comes up when I check my storymode characters and see how ridiculously insane I cash in on weazel stocks. bought with all the money I had at 2.something, now they are about to cross 1000. over 36000% return rate, beyond 100 billion. per character.

thats fun. remotely. and little. but fun. sort of.

making money in singleplayer is a walk in the park and given the free houses, cars and low prices for everything it's a bit of a joke really.

in online, it's the exact other way around, money is hard to come by and everything is insanely expensive, plus you have to buy your crib.

 

sure as hell the focus R* put on this game was called multiplayer, why else would you need many times as much gameplay time to achieve the same monetary goals?

I really hope they work hard on a real DLC now with well-paying jobs in multiplayer, a great new storyline in singleplayer and keeping word to the "opening soon" promise on the casino at the vinewood racetrack they put there like 20 microdlcs ago

Well yeah, now I finally got the BAWSAQ to work making money is indeed fairly easy, even without the heists. Its just that I kinda loved doing the Heist missions and that I was always a little frustrated that except for the first and the last one, you hardly make any money with it. But honestly, even if they were heists with no monetary gain, I would be fine with it. Just give me more stuff to do in single player.
