Haha, I know making games are expensive. It's just a dream I have of making games like those, I want to start small obviously. Make some small games using cryengine to get to know the engine. I'm going to get a job this summer to pay for some of that stuff. I'm not talking about amking a triple A game either. You can still make quality games with a small team of developers. If I make a demo city, demo of mechanics, ui, website with progess and log reports, updates, etc, I don't see why people wouldn't back it up. Kickstarter gives money to people who have been ripped off anyway and the money would go strictly into the game and paying the others in a team. I'll probably start as a two person team with my friend and move from their or go solo. It's possible, im not trying to make a GTA. (not yet) What I will probably start out with is an indie FPS shooter with DOF effects, parkour stuff like Titan Fall, it will have some elements of COD 4. It would be on sale on Steam so no publisher needed. Everything you said, I know already. I'm not trying to make a triple A game, that would be when I grow up and amass enough money to hire employees. About the console thing, mine would be based on linux like steam os, have biometrics, and have a google now type of system/assistant. It would be digital/physical (maybe all digital using the steam store and have other features like voice commands. It's like a Moto X, Xbox One, Steam Machine into one. It would have a unique design and come in multiple colors like Black/White/Red but thats just a dream of mine. im not seriously trying to make a console business. *sorry about grammar/spelling errors, I'm really busy with things and I'm in a rush *

Hey guys! I'm a 15 year old gamer and I plan on taking courses and tutorials in game design and programming. I have many bold ideas and I feel that I should finally take action. It sounds far fetched but I eventually want to have a game studio making games like Simcity, GTA, and even FPS games. I also want to found a consumer electronics company and make game consoles, phones, tablets, VR devices (oculus rift type), etc. The problem is that I know nothing about coding or game design and I've never made a game before, but I want to start now and eventually make these games. I've been thinking of making a city building game on CryEngine. It would be like Simcity 4. It would have zoning, terraforming, disasters, pretty much all the same mechanics but with modern graphics, modern building styles/ more building styles (european, asian, etc.), and modern cars. I want it to be very graphic intensive but very optimized so lower end PC's can still run it. It will have a photorealistic look to it because I hate the cartoony direction Maxis/EA is taking with Sims games. I would incorporate ideas that modders uses such as NAM. If I made this game and put it on Kickstarter, would you guys support it? I have a very high end gaming rig and I also have the free version of the CryEngine SDK so I can learn how to use it. If I feel that I can actually make this game then I will definitely purchase the full SDK and make modifications to the engine so it would be perfect for a city simulation game. Btw, It would not have always on drm, and my games would always support the PC platform first and consoles second.

I still think Rockstar could have done a better job with GTA 5 with the amount of money they spent on making it and the 5 year development time.
