I'm stunned. I mean WOW! This game has that much content and it's going to look that good on the console I'm getting it on!?!?!? And in a Game Informer Preview today, they said we have over 1000 car customization options!

I went through the trailer frame by frame with a program and it's shocking to see all of the details that were put into that 4 and a half minute gameplay trailer. I'm so stoked for this game and cannot wait for it to come out!!!

this game is just so over the top in terms of content and eye for detail, it's just the perfect finisher for the current gen consoles and a blow for the next gen consoles.

if you just go ahead and get soaked in every single frame, every single scene, one by one, and try keep an eye out for every single detail that makes the world alive and plausible (design-wise), you get a darn headache from paying all the attention.

I'm eager to say that the offered sidekicks alone outrun all other GTA titles together by miles. I mean... working stock exchange. go figure. The most iconic 3rd person action game up to date, the most iconic open world game up to date... and you get to trade stocks to make a buck. That's totally beyond sanity in the best possible way one can imagine...

GTA V stunned me when I saw the gameplay triler, the feature that I loved more was using more than one character, I didn't spected that one, but I don't think I'll be available to buy it, I don't even have a console in my house... I think I'll ask a loan on a bank just for this XD

Seriously nobody has seen the updated GTA V website? There is a s%$& load of new info and slots for more info to come. Tomorrow or next week they might reveal some of the radio stations and TV shows. On Thursday Online Gameplay will be revealed. We can customize cars like crazy, buy planes, smoke medical marijuana, go into fully fleshed out stores, take tours, etc!

When I saw the Rapid GT, Feltzer, and Dubsta customized I flipped! Customization looks so good like it is on an MC:LA level. That Chrome Infernus looked crazy but it is awesome knowing you have the ability to modify a car like that. Also I noticed one of the postcards from the Info section of the V website saying North Yankt... likely Yanktown. And there is snow! :O Or at least I hope it is snow.

As far as it looks, it can be one of these videogames that make history.

I'm dieing to see how the entire official map is, it is the first thing I take a look to when a GTA game falls in my hands.

me too... although I must say all the little pieces and bits that we have seen so far make for a good 90% of the entire map, plus R* already said that community estimates are amazingly close to the real one...

my favorite is this rendition from igta5.com:

    dsCeyVO.jpg

did anyone notice how there's pictures of snowy roads (lower left, only visible if you select the view background image option in your browser)?

your map makes no sense at all compared to what was shown in screenshots and videos, last but not least the blueprint-map-teaser for the CE which shows 90% of Los Santos in shape and road layout.

plus the design is cleary 3 era style and you can easily determine parts of the respective maps used... fake definitely. and a bad one I might add...

the map I posted "grew" over time (giving an idea of whats what rather than to be what you get as a map ingame), looking at all the visual information given and taking quite a lot of time and talking over at igt5.com to place things over 130 pages of picture and video analysis to figure out the map)

This map isn't up to date anymore as it misses things like Paleto, misses a lot but you gotta keep in mind that Los Santos itself is about the size of Liberty City incl the water, and R* talked about the map being bigger than IV SA and RDR combined, or 5 times the size of RDR.

I don't think we'll see the map for the next 3 weeks IF we get to see the map early at all. I'm still pillaging every picture and videoframe for a map leak like the one happened with IV, but I doubt R* does it like this.

Maybe we get a real map reveal or something like the layout reveal on the homepage of IV, but like I said, maybe 1 week from release the earliest.

I believe we have seen 90% of the map but I assure you it will feel humongous from the ground and of course there is so much to see and explore. That gameplay trailer literally blew my mind lol! :O I mean that penthouse they showed was beautiful with breathtaking views. I hope we can buy it in Single Player with that gorgeous ten car garage. It's so cool! And what are there like 3 penthouses? We have the Weasel News Plaza, the Rockford Hills Penthouse, and that other penthouse that shows off the hills. :D Loving the safehouse diversity.

speaking of the map shape, one can assume we have an official idea of the outlines, the achievements have been leaked over at xbox360achievements.org incl. the icons, and the one named San Andreas Sightseer - Explore all of Los Santos and Blaine County comes with this icon:

    83036.png

with every leak, there's a bit of caution to be applied to the information, but the site is known to be considerably legit, e.g. they leaked the GTA IV achievements aswell and it turned out they nailed it.

anyways, as the lower parts match the blueprint-map parts shown in the CE teaser and several other known coastline-parts can be outlined aswell, this might be what the map looks like in terms of shape.

this would also match the info we - as a fan community - got from R*, that the user-estimated map comes pretty close to the real deal.

like I said, the city seems to be about the same size as Liberty.

tbh, I expected the city to be bigger, but I'd rather have a Los Santos the size of LC, full of authentic life and details rather than a bigger city about as empty as the "original" Los Santos.

Plus I recon the goal-getter of this game is the countryside and how the city is intervowen with it. We know R* can create greatlooking cities and greatlooking landskapes lately (IV and RDR), the connection of both gotta work aswell.

also, I think for a game like GTA and given that we have a truckload of countryside to go wild, Los Santos is just about the right size. I bet once down to the streets it'll feel big enough.

let's see what the next days bring in additional information. there's still 10 facts about LS/BC to be revealed plus I think we get a few more pictures - maybe even moving pictures aka video - prior to release.

I bet they wanna steal the show next week when SR4 hits the stores.

oh boy I'm so excited to finally lay my tiny hands on V, coming home to LS and stuff...

An artist knows hes finished not when there is nothing left to add, but when there is nothing left to take away.

The approach of simply increasing the city size for the sake of increasing the city size is a bad idea, mostly because you end up with a lot of areas that add nothing to the game and just waste resources that could better be used on something different, like bringing your city to life. And face it, a whole lot of city is boring. The real LA is a massive but most of that is just block upon block of houses. No point in having 15 blocks of 3-4 family houses that are all sorta the same.

for that part, I always like to cite true crime: la

240sqm of procedurally generated los angeles road network.

about as close as it can get to the real la-suburban-sprawl and associated boring repetitiveness. there's like 2 or 3 different models for single family homes and the same for other homes, not to mention business.

give it a little hd-polish and that's all you gotta get if you want a real sprawled los santos. not to mention the gameplay downsides this has.

driving an hour from mission starter to first objective? really?

hell, even la noire was, while the eye for detail and very very high level of authentic replication kept it sort of interesting, a hell to drive around in for missions and a considerably massive waste of space in terms of mission design. even if they'd only recreated half of la county it would be too big still.

I preordered this game... First time I've done so in at least 10 years.

Really looking forward to it. I still enjoy GTA IV to this day. Never really liked the III series... The graphics just weren't there. I and II are showing their age, sadly.

The III series was kind of a hit and miss thing with me. I loved Vice City, I played that game for 100's of hours. I strongly disliked San Andreas. By then the graphics were really dated, I disliked a lot of gameplay mechanics and a lot of the game felt all over the place. No coherence in the story either. One moment you're playing a gangsta in da hood and the next moment you're reenacting Oceans Eleven or stealing high tech jet fighters from the US military.

I'm kind of hyped for this one though and the only reason I didn't pre order is because I'd have to pay now while Im kinda low on funds. And the rational part of my brain says I should wait for some reviews before I spend my money on what turns out to be a bug ridden mess.

yeah 3 series was hard to get around with.

gta 3 itself was clearly a big try and error experiement to port the open world-ish gameplay of gta 1 + 2 into the 3d world. it figuratively leaks test test test out of every vortex.

it looks like the experiment sort of worked cuz then came Vice City which I played up and down and offered a hell of a lot of content.

then cam San Andreas which was clearly the climax of the GTA franchise so far.

then, basically, the same experiment that happened with the introduction of the 3-series started with IV. Porting the game into the current gen visually.

worked again, but frankly, the game was boring.

they fixed it VC/SA like with the EFLC or better the single releases TLAD and BOGT.

aaaand the 4 series was over again.

Now 5 is less than 4 weeks away from release (go figure) and the step taken is small visually but therefore even bigger contentwise, comparing stock-IV with V works as well as comparing 3 to San Andreas.

anyways, I'm not quite sure but I think this is the first game I've ever preordered in my life.

well, speaking of content, 3djuegos released an interview with Leslie Benzies yesterday about multiplayer experience.

first of all, october 1st is said to be the implementation date of GTA Online

and second and more important: about 700 (no typo) missions are available in multiplayer, 500 of which are permanently available and can be redone over and over and over again. Others are exclusives, events and downloads from the Social Club

Not to mention that they said players could be designing their own multiplayer content, next to the stuff Rockstar releases.

This has the potential to completely change the way multiplayer gets done in the future.

mission designer for multiplayer isn't new, it's just a little dusty and mainly associated with RTS and a couple of sims (arma, il2 etc) and sort of coincided with a map designer here and there.

feels new to action games to me, but looks very promissing.

I don't think it has been done in what almost seems to come down to a MMORPG.

Then it's getting closer to the shape you were depicting, GMT. Nevertheless, the city size compared with the overall map looks smaller what I expected. The real LA is a massive city, I hope LS increases its size on the final game.

When I first saw the blueprint for Los Santos back in may

    jBf9qW5JiBJUb.jpg

I was like, OMG we got a picture of the map! And then I realized that this was like 90% of the city I was like, what the hell this city is small! :/

But over time I got over the size and realized that this city looks even better than Liberty City. A week ago there was preview from some sort of gaming site and they had an interview with Aaron Garbut, read it all here: http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtopic=572021

What really got me was where he said they didn't recycle buildings. I've looked at every trailer and gameplay video frame-by-frame and I have yet to see even on building that has been recycled. In IV Liberty City was extremely diverse but you could tell that a number of buildings had been recycled throughout the city.

Another thing that makes me care even less about the size of Los Santos is the diversity and the fact that many buildings will have interiors. I mean wow...
