Thanks, jglei701, The Big Z, newy(2!), and andrew george - not to mention Slayer and Adley! I'm hoping to get the next update together on Monday so as not to leave you hanging too long. It will be a big one with lots of pictures. Unfortunately, I'm being bombarded with RLS for the next couple weeks - a relative in the hospital 8.gif, a wedding to attend in Chicago 9.gif, a job interview 16.gif, a meeting in Pittsburgh 23.gif, and to top it off, jury duty! 33.gif

Chapter 27: The Council Finally Meets

The next morning, all of the mayors of The Ragged Edge traveled to Paw Paw for the Regional Council meeting. August had scheduled the meeting bright and early at 9 a.m. in an attempt to forestall any more vote switching deals. It might be nice to take a look at two new Paw Paw developments that Col. Thistle missed when he hurriedly passed through town a few days ago.

The larger development was the area of Seaberry

    AH - HAH!
i knew i didn't trust Bud for a reason! not a very nice thing, taking everyone's money, if you ask me...and a good way to lose votes!
you know, i was looking at your pictures, especially the areas with the monorails...you don't need any roller coasters in the Ragged Edge...i think you could get enough of a ride with the monorails. looks very cool
    keep up the great work.

I've always loved this journal - Dr Vu is so nasty. 11.gif Always lurking - so sinister.

Some nice pics as ever - good work!

I really like this idea of audience participation! I can't wait to be a part of it. We'll just have to see where the capitol would fit the best!

Thank you for the comment, jglei701. I think we'll go through the cities in detail 3 or 4 at a time, then I'll post thumbnails of all the potential sites at once for the actual voting. I know I'm the lazy sort who doesn't like to have go back several pages to see what I'm voting on. This doesn't bode well for me using our county's touch screen system next week. 17.gif

MrCinatit, I'm just teasing about the Trixies, although I've done my part and voted several times, as a good (former) Chicagoan should. 38.gif Well, okay, it was all legit, even if I had to make up categories to get all of my favorites in. 22.gif As for myself, as a Cubs fan, I am used to low expectations, even lower than Red Sox fans, though maybe not as low as Reds fans (j/k! 2.gif). There's always next year... 18.gif

Oh, boy, more comments! 2.gif Just when you think that your journal is peacefully hibernating on page 3, someone comes along and wakes it up. 31.gif Thanks, Slayer, Adley, and Newy!

Actually, I had 5 of the 13 capital districts finished when my son took a renewed interest in Sim City, so I've been helping him with his cities the past couple weeks. 16.gif But I think I can put together a little update soon. I'm sure you guys are anxious to find out what happened between Clem and Ivy 36.gif if only I could figure that out myself. 41.gif

I just love this CJ Mayormommy.... there's SO much more here than great cities (which it definately has). The storyline and character development just drives what you end up doing with everything... there's some real genius at work! The readability is amazing!

Along with the whole story-line idea... I can't wait to see what each of your cities do to spruce up the towns for the capital contest. That was a great idea (there's a common theme, if you couldn't tell!) and it will be exciting to see what you come up with!!

Thanks, jglei701 and slayer! 43.gif Now that everyone has been admonished to make more thoughtful comments on journals, does that mean I have to reply with more intelligent answers? 42.gif Let's just say that I really appreciate that folks like the story and even more surprisingly, the somewhat lumpy and odd cities. I'm still having fun with it, even though leveling 11 x 15 lots for the potential capitol 13 times over is becoming a bit of a pain. 33.gif But it's a interesting challange to design a city around such a large blank hole, especially since I've had some experience with that before in this crazy terrain.

Thanks again for the comments! 9.gif

Hmmm...somehow, I don't think I've come across this journal. I really like the storyline...I enjoy having something to read along with looking at the pics. And, there's lots to read here. Good job!

Thanks for the comment, threeswept. It's always nice to hear from other journal creators.1.gif And also Adley! I didn't think I'd ever get any comments on the previous update; maybe it really was stinky. 33.gif I hope to squeeze in one more update around Thanksgiving before I'm off to Hamburg, Germany for several days. When I get back, it will be time for the big vote! 2.gif

The Ragged Edge is technically a territory of Maxisland, although they don't have any representation in the national capital of New Mommy City. I can't say more than that for now, but perhaps someday we'll pay a visit to New Mommy City...38.gif

Great update! I like seeing the overviews of each of the cities and what each of the mayors are thinking :-) I was wondering where some of the cities would want to place the potential capital...

I'm gonna be mad at Maxisland, though, if it doesn't happen! I like the idea!
