But it is almost ready.  Testing is complete, and the documentation just needs to be written.

There's no telling how long that will take, though.  But it should be... imminent. 9.gif

wonder if i use GLR/Avenue dual network in residential and commercial area, do this can support up to a 2M population city(big size) without monorail and elevated train?

currently i use monorail and elevated train in my city. was thinking to change to GLR/Avenue dual network.

besides, found there something different in zoning for GLR/Avenue dual network and normal avenue(i use 6*6).

thx

Without seeing your city, it's impossible to say for sure (for example, how much GLR track would there be?), but I would think that this would work. And if you have subways, it should definitely work. I'd recommend using Simulator Z, either Medium (if you have subways) or High (if you don't); depending on your city, you might have to upgrade to Ultra.

The RTMT Add-On Pack V3.60 has now been officially released; it can be found on the STEX here.  This Add-On Pack contains a number of new stations and new features, which are summarized below:

SAM Stations:   There are 15 new stations for seven of the eight  currently existing SAM textures.  (There is no room for stations on the parking lot textures.)  All stations are single-square.  For each of the four paved textures, there is a bus stop, a subway station, and a combination bus stop and subway station.  For the two dirt textures and the gravel texture, there are simply bus stops.  These stations can be plopped successfully whenever there is at least one square of SAM texture on either side of the station.  However, demolishing these stations may cause the surrounding pavement to revert to the default street texture if there are not enough SAM squares present.

SAM streets may be dragged through these stations with no ill effects.

El Rail over Road Stations:  Six new stations are included here.  There are bus, subway, and combination bus and subway stations for El Rail over Road, as well as similar stations for El Rail over Street.  Both Standard and Euro road textures are available for these stations.

GLR Transitions:  This Add-On Pack features two GLR transitions, one from GLR-in-Avenue to Underground, and the other from GLR-in-Road to Underground.  For both transitions, "Underground" may be subway, underground rail, or both.  As of this release, there is no underground rail network for avenues, so that particular connection cannot be made.  However, when such a network is made available, this connection should be usable.  These transitions are also being released simultaneously in a standalone package for non-RTMT users.  In future RTMT releases, the versions of these transitions bundled with RTMT will also have optional bus, subway, and underground rail stations that will be accessible by pedestrians.

New Station Information Displays:   Information about each RTMT station now shows up automatically in all of the NAM Traffic Volume Views.  Additionally, information about all stations containing subway stops shows up automatically  in the NAM Subway, Subway Building, and Zones Data Views.  This information includes the type and size of the stations, as well as the type of network they're located on.  These new displays allow previously hidden RTMT stations to be seen, queried, and even demolished.  For a detailed description and illustration of how this works, please see the Station Highlighting and Queries thread.

New Station Queries:  The RTMT station queries have been expanded considerably, providing significantly more information about both the queried station, similar RTMT stations, and the network on which they reside.  An example of such a query is shown in the previously mentioned thread.

New Menu Icons:  The RTMT menu icons have been replaced with a set that is based on the actual network textures, and that is much easier to read.  Station types are spelled out in the icons.  Although the station type names are currently available only in English, the additional station information that appears when mousing over these icons is available in other languages as well.  Some of the newer stations do not have alternate language translations yet, but these translations will be coming.  If you would like to contribute to this translation effort, please let the RTMT Team know.

DAMN Menus:  DAMN menus are now fully implemented for all RTMT stations.  These menus allow a hierarchical arranging of the stations, and are implemented via the game's News feature.  For dealing with a large number of stations, they are much easier to use than the traditional flat menu structure.  However, these are currently implemented for RTMT in English only; other languages supported by RTMT will be converted soon.

The RTMT version of DAMN menus has an extra feature known as the RTMT Root Menu.  At the bottom of each RTMT DAMN menu, there is an RTMT icon.  Clicking on this icon will take you directly to the top level of the RTMT menu hierarchy.

For those who have Urgent Advice Dialogs turned off in the game options, the DAMN menus will show up in the News window.  They work just as well here as in the separate popup window.  However, whereas the popup window will disappear when you finish using the DAMN menus, the menus will continue to be displayed in the News window after use, but become grayed out.  In both cases, clicking on the "Open Additional Menus" link will reactivate them.  Also, if you are using the News window for your DAMN menus, you may wish to use the Bigger News Window plugin.  You may also choose to have the DAMN menus show up in the News window even if you have Urgent Advice Dialogs turned on.

More Custom Props:  A number of new props are included in this Add-On Pack.  Some of these have already appeared in different form in the RTMT Interim T-RAM Stations pack, some are from previously optional downloads that are now incorporated into the main distribution, and some are completely new.  From the RTMT Interim T-RAM Stations pack, the GLR shelters by SimFox and Xyloxadoria are now available for GLR-in-Avenue, while the existing shelter by GShmails and the Historic GLR Tram Station have been upgraded to be HD models.  The Berlin props and the additional Ninja subway stair sets are now included in this add-on pack.  Finally, Gwail is working on a complete New York City transit prop pack; his NYC bus shelter and bus sign are now available with this distribution.

Additionally, SimGoober, Antoine, and GShmails have all kindly given their permission for their models to be distributed with RTMT.  As a result, they are included in this distribution, and there is no need to download them separately any more.

Subway Station Bug Fix:  This Add-On Pack fixes a bug that has been present in all versions of RTMTV3.  Until now, subway stations that were on subway lines not located at an intersection with another subway line, or within one square of such an intersection, did not work properly.  Subway usage at these stations was low to nonexistent.  This bug affected all RTMT stations containing subway stations, with the single exception of the combination GLR/Subway Station for GLR-in-Avenue.

A while ago, a workaround for this bug was published in The RTMT V3 Support Thread.  To fix this bug for any given station, it is sufficient to create a one-square stub of a subway line leaving the station (or a square on either side of it) in a direction perpendicular to the subway line passing through the station.  This workaround still works, and may be preferred where you don't want to replop stations. However, the main bug has been fixed in all RTMT subway stations, and any new stations plopped will not have this bug.  Therefore, demolishing an older station and replacing it with a newer station will also fix this bug for that station.

Just got the 3.60 Add-Ons. Incredible work! I love it!

I have one question, though:

When I first installed the RTMT, I was already using SimGoober's bus stops (style 1, black, with and without ads). As the RTMT supported these bus stops, I still have (and use) the SG bus stop lot in addition to the RTMT lot using SG props.

When I installed the Add-Ons, I kept the entire Models folder intact, as the readme advised me to do so. What happens is that the RTMT lots behave correctly (as before); the shelter props used are defined by:

"RTMTV3_PropF_BusStop_SG_01_Style1_Black.dat"

"RTMTV3_PropF_BusStop_SG_02_Style1_BlackAd.dat"

But the "original" 1x1 SG bus stop lot now pick it's shelter randomly from all SG models in the Models folder. I suppose I can stop this from happening by deleting all SG shelters in the Models folder, except the two I actually use? Also, I reckon this could be done without causing any damage to the already functioning RTMT lots?

Again, thank you for your efforts.

I'm glad you like the new Add-On Pack!

Your problem sounds very strange, though - basically, it shouldn't be happening. Although RTMT uses the same models as SimGoober's standalone bus stops, the descriptor files are different, so the behavior of the RTMT and the standalone bus stops should not be connected in any way. I'll have to get the RTMT Team to look into this; it may take a while to figure out what's going on here, though. But we'll find out. And if anyone from the RTMT Team is reading this and would like to take a crack at it, please contact me.

To answer your question about a workaround, yes, that should work. You would probably need to delete the copies of those models that came with SimGoober's bus stops as well.

Thank you for your quick reply. I will do what you suggested.

I found this strange too. I knew that the old RTMT v.3 got the models from the original SG folder (hence the dependencies). But I didn't know that the SG lots were searching elswhere for models as well..

Actually, the game only ever has one set of bus models loaded. It loads the first set it finds. When it sees the second set, it loads them; since the IDs are identical, they overwrite the first set. This isn't a problem because the entire models are identical, not just the IDs.

Just wanted to say that I've removed the original SG models and the models I knew I did not use in the RTMT subfolder. Everything works perfect, and I love the RTMT and it's Add-ons even more than before.

@z1: Thank you for your help.

You're welcome! I found what the problem was, and I decoupled the RTMT model files from the ones that come with SimGoober's bus stops, so this should not be a problem for other people in the future.

Due to an error in building the RTMT Add-On Pack V3.60 distribution, the DAMN menus always show up in the News window, no matter which installation option you choose.  This has been fixed in the version uploaded to the STEX earlier today.  If you have already downloaded and installed RTMT V3.60 and would simply like the fix, then download the attached Zip file and take the customMenu.dat file that it contains and use it to replace the customMenu.dat file in the DAMN\Support folder.

another question:

i try the RTMT in one of my city, small city (60k people): i replace all the bus stop and subway station with the RTMT stop

well ONLY in this city, after the replace of the stop, i've got a slowdown of loading time and especially if i turn the game speed " very fast " : the time elapsed not is continuous but slows until stop for some seconds and again restart, it's very slowed and the game is unplayble with this speed

i suppose the fault is the RTMT, cause any other city don't have this problem

some suggestions ?

Your first problem looks like an installation problem; it appears that you have installed RTMT V3.60, but missed at least one of the steps. I think if you look hard enough, you'll find that your "Capacity" files aren't the latest, or else the older ones are still around and are overriding the newer ones.

As for your second problem, the Trafficfix DM mod is known to cause this problem when used with RTMT. Do you have this mod installed? This mod is obsolete, and is not supposed to be used with the NAM. Removing this mod fixes the problem.

Well resolve the first problem: i'v eliminate the files "namcapacity" in the RTMT folder and replace with the same file from 3.60 zip folder

now signs work 2.gif

For the second problem, i don't have any traffic mod installed :/

Its a known bug, if you select a puzzle piece and while still selected move over a Transit Enabled Lot the game will CTD (crash to desktop), this is explained in the NAM readme documentation see quote below

1.4.2 Placement & Transit Enabled Lots

An issue with the game which may cause the game to crash has been identified. At this time the exact precise cause of the issue is yet to be determined. The following outlines the general-case scenario in which the issue may cause the game to crash:

Items related to known issue:

  • Transit Enabled Lot(s) (TEL); this can include both Maxis originals & any custom made TEL.
  • Interchange Related Item(s) (IRI); this can include both Maxis originals & any custom made items that are interchange-base related, such as; Highway Overpasses; Ramps; Cloverleafs; PuzzlePieces; & other similar item(s).
  • Cursor of Interchange-base Related Item(s).

Point of Crashing:

If the Cursor contains an IRI on it & then this Cursor is hovered over &/or clicked on (&/or repeated) a TEL, it can in some circumstantial cases cause the game to instantly crash to the desktop. Currently this is only known to occur if the IRIs' network on the Cursor is the same network with which the TEL is compatible with.

Solution:

Currently at this time, a full-proof work-around to the issue is not yet known. It is simply advised that users avoid moving the Cursor over a TEL if the Cursor has an IRI on it to minimize the chances of the game crashing. It is also advised that any TEL that exists in a city has its compatible network drawn right into/through the Lot, as this will also minimize the chances of the game crashing.

Do you have any other mods installed?  RTMT by itself will not slow down the game.

Sorry, for not starting a new thread, but I'm sure my problem is simple for those who have faced it. I did my due diligence with the forum's search feature, so now I ask people.

It is my first attempt at installing custom content.

S4 deluxe

installed NAM

Brown boxes for bus stops etc... but the stop itself shows so I think the missing parts are some props. I don't know where to get these props if they are not in the NAM package or a regular component of S4 Deluxe. I found a lot of posts on stuff like this, but they say that NAM doesn't have any special dependencies.

someone help please! I live this game 4.gif

Those are RTMT bus stops, all right. Did you do any customization? If so, the Readme file tells you dependencies you need to download. Otherwise, you're just missing a regular game component. Do you have the patch installed for SC4 Deluxe?

I have the patch in now! 4.gif while patches are always a good idea, it didn't fix this problem. :'( I never noticed any boxes before NAM. They game runs fine besides this. I think all the NAM parts are usable but I don't use them cuz they are really ugly all wrapped up in paper like that! 4.gif

Just to get an idea of where you are in the installation process...

Which version of RTMT have you installed? Is it just v3.50 or have you also installed v3.60 (which requires v3.50)? If you did install v3.60, did you just replace the single files that were included in the newer version and not the Model folder? It kind of looks like you may not have installed the newer Model folder (the one with the Signs folder in it) that was included in v3.60. Of course, if you have not installed v3.60, then this does not apply, and it is some model file in the original you're missing. Just a thought...
