Thank you so much, especially JT Portland, for the two new PDA buildings! The 1ITC is awesome and I also like the Kinzie Tower (I have them side by side)! And one thing that I really appreciate is the level of professionalism of the PDA group! You promised and delivered. You also asked for input and listened! You guys are the best and I'd like to point out that the signature building of my city is a PDA tower! Once again, thanks!!!! 44.gif

well, it isn't really tacky, it just isn't anything architecturally stunning. It's just a bland apartment. Although, we do need more buildings like that. Which is why I gave it a 10.

Okay... it's that time again kids.  I told you I was working on something crazy (at least for me), and here it is... I present you with the PDA Financial Center.  The building's wild exterior creates even wilder interiors that would simply defy reason!  If Frank Gehry ever designed a high-rise, it might look something like this :)

I must say... Very Interesting. Modern yet, it has some principles of the past! I guess the interior would have some strange spaces. More for the fun!19.gif

While you're at it, might as well place a rock climbing wall and booth on this building! 18.gif

Seriously, the entire thing would be pretty cool if you scrapped the square, mundae part, and made the entire thing shaped like a mountain or cliff!

I agree with Dusk. the curvy part is great, but the amount of area taken up by the square, boring part is too large. I think you should either : (1) decrease the size of the 'boring' area, perhaps chopping an area of the tower vertically at an angle on the squared corner, or something exciting like that, or (2) keep going with that plus/minus idea on the 'boring' wall(where some areas stick out, while others stick in. you have a small one shown in the fourth screenshot).

Wow -- that is really cool. I love it!! Talk about thinking outside of the box ... you're about 12 miles north west of the box!!

You definately have a knack for this. I am definately downloading this baby!!! Can't wait!!

P.S. Even if you don't like the building, you have to admire its originality ...

Well, these reactions most certainly run the gamut!

dusk: that would be tacky... if you want a building shaped like a mountain... go for it :)  But, i don't :)

r7... sorry you feel that way

    tuna... umm... no?

ravens... no you're not... I love the boxy part.  It's what makes the building what it is.

To everyone else, what's wrong with the textures?

I saw a couple people post they would look at your AMA building overgrowth problem. Has anybody looked at it? Fixed it? I would love to see this building in my cities. I hope somebody fixes it soon. 34.gif

    Uh... WTF???

There is a reason Frank Gehry sticks with low-rise....  What kind of zoning code would allow THAT to be built, lol.

Personally, I don't like it, but I have to give credit for the amount of effort that went into it.

Not bad, but I sure as hell wouldn't live near that.

The roof isn't done! so don't panic... also this building is based off of a local building, care to play a game of 'name that building'? first person guesses corectly gets 10 ducks 19.gif

It looks about 16 storeys, maybe 70m, so technically it;s a highrise, but in the game it would be considered a midrise. And it looks good, similar style to the back a local building. I can't wait to see this finished!
