I think the new building has an amazing style to it. In fact a whole complex based on that style would be great but thats alot of work.  Anyhow i like the building alot.  As for using it as HT i wouldnt it just seems way to much like a modern office building.  It does sort of have a very secretive sort of mysterious look to it though. Hmm perhaps if you did the complex it coule be a great new city hall i know there are tons of suburbs and newer cities with complexes like this for their city halls aswell as larger cities too.

Hrmm... very interesting ideas Joerg.  Now that you mention it I can definately see it.  So, would the other buildings in the complex be shorter or taller?

I think if you make this a complex, you should make the building above the main building and have all the other ones smaller, and more factory like if your going to make it an industrial complex.

That looks amazing! I love the reflections in this building. They don't stand out as much as some of the reflections peopled have tried.

Wow, looks awesome! One suggestion...Turn down the light intensity. Either that or change the light color. But still, great job!44.gif

I think jes has already gone to render with Clark.  But, if we don't like the export results we won't hesitate to fix it (or perhaps release an update at a later date).  I think it looks fantastic though.  Oh, and we decided to change the 8 band-lights that you see spanning the front facade of the building.  So, if any of you don't like them (like we didn't) rest assured, they won't look like that in final release :0

Perhaps the band lights would have worked better if they were either more evenly spaced or else concentrated on the utility floor, mid building? Also a band around the top of the lobby, at just above the door top level would have looked good. Anyway I think it

ok, i did render it last night, but this morning i found some rendering errors 14.gif, but! im fixing everything now, i also changed the main building texture...
tunafish, i thought that the metal texture wouln't look good, but now i think it actualy look a lot better than the cement, and that this texture good well with the building.

    thanks Subedei!

hog, thanks for complamenting me on the roof junk, i spent HOURS making most of that stuff... and good suggestions too, i tired the lights on mechanal floors and it didn't look too good, so i just put 2 of the stripes at the top, and i kinda like it...

Great building. That looks a lot like Torre Mayor.

If you like the luminous blue stripes you probably want to add them... Just a suggestion.

i really love that mechanical floor. i don't know why, but it kind of adds this whole new level of realism and scale to the middle of the building. and the roof is gorgeous. the whole thing will probably be one of my favs once all is said and done 16.gif

In the middle of the floors where there is like a ventalation floor, it would be cool to put some horizontal lights, like the ones shown above on the Torre Mayor.

    Otherwise... Great Design!

Thanks for the great comments everyone!  Strangely enough, I think this will be my favorite of our buildings when it's released.  (I wasn't sure anything would ever surprass Washington Tower, but, this might just do the trick).

The roof and the lighting look amazing jes, and the neon bands at the top are much more what I had in mind :)

That's fantastic, guys!  The coloring of the lighting is so cool, too.  It's like what you get if you take what's best about blue and mix it with the best of green!  10.gif

    The lighting is amazing...

Originally I had a question about the Washington Bldg. but now that it's released I'll just point this out for future consideration. We'll use the Washington Bldg. as an example: WHERE is the light coming from? If you look at the sides you see the lights shining up and highlighting the building. The lights look great but they don't have any visible source -- they just APPEAR out of thin air. I'd suggest, and I'm sorry to be picky, that maybe you could add some spotlight cans where appropriate. Now, obviously the building above doesn't need those. But it's just a small suggestion for future projects. I really do love all your buildings and they keep getting better all the time.

I guess one other thing pops into mind: imagine that you're walking on the sidewalk next to these buildings...as a pedestrian, what is it you'll see? Windows on the ground floor, looking into people's offices? Shops? A two-story lobby completely enclosed in glass? We have a planning commission rule here in Portland mandating that any new or remodeled building has to be pedestrian friendly and inviting (we'll debate that ruling another day). And in most cases, shops line the ground floor, the sidewalks are covered by awnings, etc.

I hope you don't think I'm picking on anyone or looking gift horses in their mouths. I certainly could not do anything like the amazing work you guys are pulling off. So it's with an enormous amount of respect that I bring these things to your attention and if my suggestions make sense to you, perhaps you'll include them in future works.

thanks cmgrafmc, i thought about that too, but i figured that spotlights themselfs were too small to see in game to include, or they could be hideing behind the front wall ontop of the lobby 1.gif. i'll be working on the PDA HQ next, and i'll see if i can add anything like that. i don't think i've seen any buildings on stex that have a visible souce for the spotlights, do u know of any?
